For those of you in the San Jose / Santa Cruz area, I am having a pig roast at my house Saturday. If interested, PM me for details.

It looks a lot bigger in person and could probably handle a full size elk. My 50lb pig is going to look small on that.

zomg make sure you get a basting syringe and inject that mofo' with a brine/seasoning solution a few hours before roasting.

The pig roast went off without a hitch. I will post up some pictures later so you can see the pig on the spit and me carving it up. It cooked over the coals for just over 12 hours. I had to wrap some SS mesh around the pig to keep it from falling off the spit as it cooked.

45 People showed up and there is only 1 ham and a small bag of pulled pork left from a 60lb pig. I am going to be making some Carnitas later this week with what is left.

The Spit is so big that the pig looked tiny. In the picture I posted the 2 spears are too far apart to hold the pig. That thing is big enough to put an elk on it...

....or two pigs and a duck plus some chickens tied to the legs

I honestly tried attaching 2 chickens but could not get them to stay. The guy that created this thing is now working on the "poultry mod"...
