Alrighty. I'm doing this mod for a friend, who happens to be a girl, but not a girlfriend. That's because I happen to be married and ugly, a lethal combination!
Anyway, she happens to be a HUGE fan of Zelda and I have never, ever played it. This is going to be interesting....
I already have the parts list too:
AMD 1090T X6
MSI 880G-E45
8GB DDR3-1333
Radeon 6850 1GB
80GB Intel X-18 SSD
1TB Seagate
700 Watt PSU
Scythe Shuriken B heatsink
Silverstone Precision PS05 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163168)

ROFL - dude you can't be that bad!! You are married! Oh wait, she's not blind is she? Just kidding.
I'm trying to picture in my head what you would do for a Zelda mod??????

You know I love adding props to a case, so I bought these:

...and up till a couple of days ago on Youtube, I had never seen it played either. That's why this won't be a simple mod. I'll have to present several ideas to the future owner to get her opinion on what goes on the case and not necessarily what I want to add to it.

Here's some quick sketchups I made.
http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/ZELDA1_sk.jpg
I can't figure out how to remove the white border. Know that this will be an actual shield and swords.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/ZELDA3_sk.jpg
There's a surprise coming for the top as well

Try to cut the design out in an editing program, paint the surface, then apply the decal.

That's all beyond me.....
BTW, I'm waiting for the case to come in from Newegg. It was supposed to arrive on Friday, but UPS shows it as still in transit

If you're trying to remove the white border in the Sketchup model you need to use an image editing program to delete the white then save the image as a .png so that the area around the crest is transparent. Then when you put the image into your sketchup model it will allow the green to show through. You may have to colour the back of the side (aka go inside the model and fill the panel with green to have it show. It's the process I found worked the best for showing an etch on a window. Give me a message if you want me to put a tutorial together.
TheGreatSatan

You should have a turoial here on TBCS, but I'll never figure that out anyway
TheMainMan

Unless you need the model to be 100% accurate, and as you've said you don't, it's probably not worth it. Even with a tutorial (when I get around to putting one together) it's a finicky and long process. The only reason I went to the trouble initially to figure it out was because I needed to compare multiple window designs.
Love the design, can't wait to see it come together. I hate waiting for packages too:(

That's OK, I've got other projects in my head while I wait.

The case arrived after 5 days of ordering
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090049.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090050.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090051.jpg
Then I stripped it down
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090055.jpg
And got rid of the Silverstone logo
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090059.jpg
Next, I painted it green
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090078.jpg
On to the left panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090068.jpg
I'm turning the "Z" in Zelda into a window
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090072.jpg
First I need a stencil
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090073.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090074.jpg
I always cut from the inside out as to not ruin the outside of the panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090075.jpg
I usually use a ruler as a guide when cutting
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090076.jpg
And after 10 minutes it's cut. Although it's still a bit rough

Looks great, that green is the perfect colour. My S.O. saw this and will be picking up the N64 from her parent's house the next time we're there.

I moved on to the top panel where I took it apart
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090086.jpg
And cut away the excess
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090088.jpg
The top mesh is getting a face-lift too. First I got rid of the filter which is really more of a way of slowing down exhausting air
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090087.jpg
Then I gave it a quick once over
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090089.jpg
Once it was all dried I reassembled it
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090091.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090097.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090095.jpg
The window panel got a thick sheet of paint
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090098.jpg
Then the doorbell rang with my first prop. I still have to mount it though
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090080.jpg
Then I cut a new stencil
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090083.jpg

I added a single 120mm Green LED intake fan
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090100.jpg
And two 120mm green LED fans to the top
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090102.jpg
I've been looking into the paint job thus far and it looks good, but it's starting to seem a bit too sporty for me. It's not looking very much like something to do with Zelda. I want it to look sleek, but rougher, so I put down a coat of texture paint that gives the appearance of rock and then I repainted it green on top. I did this only for the panels because the procedure to retape the whole case would be too great and it still looks good as is
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090103.jpg
Here's the right side with the rock paint and the swords and shield mounted
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090106.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090104.jpg
Next I'll be adding this to the top of the case

Tear, I miss that game. My mom sold our NES years back at a garage sale.
New texture on the side panels looks good!

I'm a bit confused on how to finish this left panel. I can't get the E-L-D-A on the case. I tried painting it on, but it just looked stupid, so I painted over it. I was going to order plexi letters, but you can only specify the length, not width you need.
I may just cut my own
So, I'm changing the direction and I'm going to incorporate the Hyrule castle into the mod too. I'll be using various square stones to show the look of the outside of a castle around the case.

The ending letters E-L-D-A wll be encased in this castle material.

On to the game
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090107.jpg
I drew out my cutting line
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090121.jpg
And carefully cut out the slot
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090133.jpg
And that's it. I just have to go back and clean up the hole
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090134.jpg
On to the TriForce symbol
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090111.jpg
I drew out the logo onto the 80mm sliver of Aluminum
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090113.jpg
And carefully cut it out
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090114.jpg
Then I used the same yellow H2O paint from my Clowned mod years ago
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090119.jpg
Then I cut out an 80mm hole
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090124.jpg
The logo is smaller than the hole and I want it to appear as though it's hovering in place, so I cut out thin strips of heavy-weight plastic
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090125.jpg
And glued it from the inside
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090128.jpg
Once it dried I realized that it looked really stupid with the green behind it
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090129.jpg
I borrowed some mesh from an old side panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090131.jpg
I cut it out and placed it over the green intake
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090135.jpg
And I put it all back together again
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090137.jpg
Yep, it looks like it's hovering alright

I bought these cool wood squares
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090146.jpg
Then painted them the same Nickel color I've been using on everything else
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090147.jpg
And coated them with the rock paint
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090148.jpg
Now on to the rest of the letters. I tried ordering these instead, but every place just lets you order the height, not width. I'm cutting them out instead
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090153.jpg
And it's a long careful process
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090156.jpg
And then one hour later, I was done
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090158.jpg
I painted them to match the wood squares
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090162.jpg
And then I mounted everything to the side panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090163.jpg
Once it dried I signed the inside panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090159.jpg
I got another Zelda logo for the top too
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090155.jpg
