Disc Drive

Plans for the disc drive are to cover the top and sides in Black Carbon Fibre Vinyl. $4 Shipped from eBay. Australian Seller, i have bought from him before and was real happy with this product.

Hard Driver Cover

Stripped the hard drive down, took off the top cover, not sure if i will go with a perspex window. I have ordered a Custom Hard Drive Engraved Plate with the following text. Project 458 or Ferrari 458 Italia still deciding but will be ordered tomorrow just waiting to hear back from the seller. Check his eBay store out Big Ear Customs.

Power Switch

Going to get an Engine Start Momentary Switch, have not yet decided if i am going to replace the original power switch with this or have as a usable second power switch, the switch also lights up.

Disc Drive

Painted the disc drive in the Ferrari Red, the actual disc tray has been painted black, i will be keeping the chrome on the front, nice finishing touch

Hard Drive

Sprayed Red and then with a clear coat, will be wrapping the bottom layer with Carbon Final Vinyl. Also had the design sent to me for the engraving.

My suggestion is to replace the stock. Keeps a cleaner look that way.

Thanks for the suggestions, i will go ahead with the one power switch, i do agree with what your saying. Might try mold it where the original one is.

Might also get rid off the the Memory Card slots, no need for them anymore

Finished up the outside of the Hard Drive with Carbon Fibre Vinyl wrapped arround the edges, real happy with the finish, the edge seems to come up a bit funny from the camera.

Fan Cover

Sprayed with a quick coat of black and let it dry, and then continued with the carbon fibre vinyl. Trying to keep the inside of the Xbox to look like the engine bay of the Ferrari 458 Italia

Xbox Case

Painted both sides of the case and cut the window in the side, should of done a different design, i think it looks to much like every other case now. Hopefully the little added details will make it stand out from the standard case mods.

Motherboard Cover



As mentioned by a few others on other forums, and some ideas in my head, the motherboard green stands out too much, too noticable and takes away from the rest of the case design.



Just a quick piece of Plexiglass, just getting some ideas, definatly not final. Not sure if i go with a nice fitting peice of Plexiglass, Perspex, Acrylic etc tinted to dull the green down, or cover it in the Carbon Fibre Vinyl or even paint it black. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.



Unfortunatly no HDMI, only downside to this case, but it was a spare Xbox that i had.

Any ideas for the controller layout. Engine Start as the Guide Button, Ferrari Logo, D - Pad Colors, A B X Y Colored Buttons and Paint Color. Give me some ideas to work with if you would like to imput in the design.

Got a length of LED's today, they are RGB ( Red, Green, Blue ) same price as a single color but they did not have RED in stock, so i can just wire the RGB and make only Red.



Any ideas for placement of LED's, i don't really like being able to see the LED's directly, Hidden is better, thinking top and bottom of the case. Don't want to over do it.
