I want to use images for my various media folders (eg a picture of family guy for my folder with family guy episodes) and tried to convert a .jpg file to a .ico, but the result was extremely small... How can I make large icons, around 480x480 maybe? or am I barking up the wrong tree...

have you tried holding down CTRL and scrolling the mouse wheel while looking at the desktop?

yes, the file was limited to 128x128 pixels

its not 800x600 though. i think size is limited to 256x256, but just scrollin the mouse wheel made the icons 1/15th the size of my desktop and im at 1920x1200.
