thinking about getting a new case and doing all the hard work myself this time, rather than buying another pre mod.

just need suggestions...thinking about a UV and blue theme, black case...possibly some pics of simmilar things? trying to stay away from themes as within a little while theyll be outdated?

let me know

cheers!

There are no really perfect cases for modding.. it depends on your personal taste, and what you will be doing with it.. Front LCD screen? get at least 3 or 4 bays... Air cooling? 120mm front fan... it all depends on what you wanna do...

well im not realy sure, im looking for something that i can do peice by peice as i have the cash. how much are LCD displays anyway? im fairly new to the whole modding thing...i mean what ive got at the moment is a maplin alien case with a cathode a couple extra LED fans and soon an LED cpu cooler + some 30cm UV tubes

idealy its gotta be something without a front door to break as i tripped over my door on the current case and split it.... i dunno

lol, thanks anyway! - perhaps this topic will help other people too:p

after looking around im thinking possibly the aerocool gatewatch and musketeers, as i like the way both units look. is there a plain black case with a big ass plain window already in the side already on the market??

(WTF am I still doin here? T_T)

Surely there is one, lol, but if you want to make the mod more like yours, buy a plain black case, and cut your own window in it... OR if you want to save yourself from the pain of cutting the panel, buying plexi, cutting plexi, making it fit, etc etc etc.... you know what to do. :)

right...hows this look http://www.xcase.co.uk/acatalog/Xc-_i-Mesh.html
with the gatewatch & musketeer...couple of UV tubes & blue fans outa my old system...? the mesh would help keep it running cool & as i dont have the tools to do the window kit myself itd make it a lot easier. or perhaps change out the side mesh for a custom perspex window?

hmmm....

talking of wire management, how do you do the PSU wiring? mines a state, i just rammed it all in a spare 3.25 bay with the inverter for my cathode

The paint is flouresscent green safety paint. And i should have used an etching primer and some clear coat. It still looks good bit chips easily.

The slot blower is from antec and blows air into the case unlike most slot blowers i've seen.

As for my wiring.... Its a mess right now. I bought some heatshrink tubing to cover the wires. I needed a molex pin remover so while i ordered that i also bought a uv red wiring kit (for another case im doing). I dont know yet if im going to use the same psu in the other computer. Im going to use the black heatshink on it first and see how i like it.

[edit]
Here is a pic of a test section i did. That was the only connector i could get off without the molex remover.
The blue tape at each end is some hockey tape i found at the dollar store

wicked...

i guess the wires will have to wait untill i have a psu that is worth spending time doing that on...its a 300w packard bell unit at the mo, but it does have a 12cm fan in the bottom which is real quiet and im getting good airflow.

i diddent know they made blowers that suck air into the case...odd, mine takes it out

2 packs of heatshrink = $10
Molex tool = $8
hockey tape = $1

Not bad for less than $20

Ill post full pics when my tool arives

OWCH...cant afford LCD's then.

basicly its gonna have to be an ebay job for the mod parts...i should have about £100 GBP to spend...

that seems amazingly cheap...ill go check maplin for some heatshrink, my tech teacher told me it was majorly expensive tho...that being the reason why it haddent occured to me before. shall have to research this

(note the chavbusters sticker lol)

There's only a handful of guys from the UK on here so don't worry if no-one gets that joke.

Don't trust tech teachers! Mine once told me he was shot out a submarine's torpedo tube.
