Hey, i'm looking to incorperate an LCD display into a drive bay of my newly modded PC. Just wondering in anyone in the UK knew a site that sold just like small 4 line displays for PCs, with preferably no modding needing to be done to the display itself, eg. it was made for this purpose. Thanks,

Kustom PC's (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/) do various Crystal Fonts and Matrix Orbital displays.
About the only place I know in the UK. Otherwise US of A (with a hefty shipping charge  )

I think Kustom PC's is the only UK dealer of Matrix Orbitals, which are really the things your looking for i suspect. The bad news is that 4 line displays will cost you an arm, a leg, and next door's donkey. I think you might still have to import for the 4-line.

Yeah, just bought all my modding supplies from Kustom PC's. They were really good, and prices are decent, but those LCD display cost A LOT! Surly there is a cheaper, bog standard 4 line display with like no remotes etc.

There are, but they involve modding them yourself. Your standard display comes with a built in decoder and manager; it will have a pin input, and you send binary signals down a bus. When it gets the binary signal, it puts the character (usually ASCII) to the screen, then moves onto the next character. Obviously, there's command combinations as well. (eg. clear)
All the matrix orbitals have above this standard is a USB interface and the mountings and so forth built in. Course, they don't want you to know that. ;)

Thanks. Thats really what I thought though. I don't really wanna go down the modding route for the LCD display, not that great with electronics. I'll let it drop for now, but maybe have a go with it at some point. Thanks again!
