This is my second attempt at modding a computer case, i am not a professional just a regular guy trying to make a impressive case for himself.
I pulled this thing out of a computer junkyard.

I used a hand cutter for the door which you can see.

I was told that if you color the inside the case a lighter color it will help with heating and since I live in Canada and our summer temps are always changing i find it sometimes challeging to cool my machine down.

I wasnt too sure of what i was going to do after i painted it.

I new for sure with this case i could get better cooling because of its layout.

So since i do know how to draw somewhat i decided that i will give it my own personalty with my own artwork.

I used fine line tape which you can get at any auto store, same type of tape they use for making custom flames on cars.

I am really good at using dots in my drawings so i thought i would try it on my computer case, i think it turned out well.

Once i finished all my drawings i added some gloss finish to it to give that extra shine.

So the front of it i wasnt too sure of what i was exactly going to do either make it a cdrom case from hell or add lights or fans to the front so i fooled around with different ideas 2 or 3 times before i figured out what suited the case best plus for cooling i had to think of the air flow also.

Its about 97% done now, i just need to finish the door on the side to cover up the space and add a few more lights to it. Got to add some power knobs for the front.

I will post more when i finally get it finished. The color did drop the temps down by 4 degrees and the cpu at 5 degrees and thats using the factory fan and heatsink still.

Thanks for looking

Hey, not bad at all! Though i have to be honest, i don't think that a lighter colour will cool your computer more, unless your computer is sitting in sunlight. The temp drops are probably down to losing all the dust when you were working.

Looks good, but I really don't think the temp drops are due to changing the colour!

nicely done dude. one thing you might try. if you paint the inside of your case the same color as your lighting scheme it tends to have a good effect. yours however i must say looks good none the less. check this one out.

Hey thanks for the comments i do appreciate the feedback. The color maybe your right but none the less it has dropped its temps which is a good thing. I was thinking of adding mirrors to the inside of the door and back where the pci slots are to give the lights more of a effect. Its still a work in progress and hopefully i can complete it this summer. Again thanks alot for the feedback!

Looks great! I always like to see server case mods. And yeah, I don't think the color had anything to do with it.

i also love the case. cant believe you found that in a computer junkyard. one thing though. i fyou have a window in that case, why did you not pant the inside nicely.. in the pics it looks like the paint is only lightly sprayed on. but thats just me.

what are the specs for the comp anyway? and what temp's are you running? im really interested to know temps in a huge case like that with what looks to be like plenty of airflow....

Yes the pictures show a light spray but i did do another 3 coats of yellow and a coat of protection. Ya its amazing what people throw out these days, but i guess not everyone is into modding a computer case. I am really thinking of adding lazer leds to show off the dragon i drew on the side, as of now you really can not see it and the skull on the front, but i dont want the case to look crappy, so i better do more thinking of how i am going to do that.

My system specs is as follows:

AMD Sempron 3300+ on a ABIT KU8 ULi
1 Gig of DDR 400 Dual channel
2 200gig Maxtor HD's 7200RPM Ata 133
eVGA Geforce 6600 GT 128mb DDR3 Video card

Temps are: Cpu at idle is 48.C, system at idle is 18.C

Its still a work in progress, i really want to upgrade my mobo and cpu again, since the prices are still great for hardware. Thanks for the feedback.
