While searchiing for something I cant remember yesterday in my bedroom, I went across my GameBoy Color, and looked at it with a modding eye... I said to myself : Would it be possible to find a way to plug it in the computer, so it displays what I want him to display??
I still havent opened it, cause it's using weird screws, but Ill find a way to look at the inside.
I think theis lil machine's general specs are like :
64x64 or 96x96 LCD screen, cant remember, and I dont wanna count the pixels...
one ''infrared'' port (called the Comm port)
one extension port (used for linking, or lighting, etc)
one D-Pad
2 buttons (A, B)
2 other buttons (Start, Select)
One speaker
DC 3v 0.6W (when plugged in wall)
One hell of a dumb thing to do, to plug his GBC in his comp o_O
Oh and it would probly need to be external, since the screen won't fit a normal 5.25 bay panel.

I'm not 100%, but i do know that it's possible to run Linux off a GB Advance with some ingenuity. So it probably is possible, but i'm pretty certain you're stuck with 256 colours. You'd have to be mighty clever with a multimeter to figure it all out.

Well I do have a multimeter, but I aint such a computer nerd to figure out all the circuit programming for such modding...

Well, it can also be done with a Playstation screen...

Use a small screwdriver for the screws, I used to do custom paintjobs on GB colors. I used to use one found in a dollar store version of an "Eye Glass Repair Kit". A small flathead does the trick on those "Y" screws, just be careful not to strip them.

Thanks for the help tybrenis ^_^;
And DaveW, I doubt the PS screen got the same resolution as a GBC screen... T_T
Well, I was thinking about finding a way to plug it into some kind of port, maybe the serial or the parallel (probly serial, i dont know whats the difference, except that the parallel is more for printers and comms), if I could make something to display on it, while it is plugged on the serial port (i would try to make some kind of plugg, maybe as well take one from a mouse and link it), maybe I oculd find a way to program (or find a program?) to display shiznits like temps and other stuff..
After more thinking, I could barely keep the GBC intact, find a way to hijack a gamecard, find a way to link it to the computer so the GB and the computer would always be linked via the serial port if possible, and by using Windows, make some kind of ''game'' (more of a software) that I could emulate via Windows, and display my computer temps and other things, using the Winbond chip that reads the temps and voltages of my computer (the winbond chip is on the mobo, as you already know), so I will have to find a way to make my GB communicate with my computer real-time, using the Winbond chip located on my MOBO, and display the stuff on this little screen using some kind of program located on my computer that I will surely have to build myself, or with help from others......
DAMN! Lots of things to do! Do you think it's worth it??? I mean, when I have nothin to do I could try to make something to work... but for this I will need major help for the linking and programming, and everything else... :S
