My girlfriend's PC crapped out and I can't figure it out. It hangs during boot when it says:
AMD Data Change...Update New Data to DMI! Update success

Don't worry, it's just a Dell monitor...
And ideas? I've cleared CMOS, and defaulted everything in the BIOS. I pulled the HDD to back up stuff just in case, HDD seems to work fine though.
I'm going to try memory later today, hopefully I have some for this comp. I'll get specs later.
TIA
Out of curiosity, try disabling all the drive controllers in the BIOS. IIRC, the next thing that it should be doing at that point is scanning for drives, and if there's a problem with one of the controllers it might be causing it to hang. ...or I could be full of crap, idk. :P

lol, first, i love the "Don't worry, it's just a Dell monitor..." :D but second, run a memory check, like memtest. i had a similar issue, bad memory. out of curiosity, is it a biostar mobo? i have had soo many issues with them on my one amd board i bought from them.
EDIT: including a bios update that makes your ethernet controller useless. everyone that updated with that board got screwed.

Tried all these suggestions, but it's still being dumb. She ended up buying a laptop.
Thanks all for the help. +Rep to all!

Q:When switching on the PC there is always a message at BIOS POST "*** Data change... Update New Data to DMI", what does this message mean?
A:It means that data of the memory registry of *** processor has been updated to DMI when the system is turned on. Those data are aimed to be written back to processor when PC wakes up from sleep mode of S3(STR).
Google says to play around with the power management settings and/or change the battery on the mobo. Could be a bad BIOS flash as well. If you can flash to a newer BIOS, that may fix it.

I already replaced the battery, and I've messed with every setting possible. I didn't try a BIOS update, maybe I will soon. Like I said she bought a lappy so it doesn't matter all the much any more.

Haha. Get what you can for them I suppose. There are newer, more powerful organs constantly released that devalue her old organs to the point that they're almost not even worth the trouble. How old are the organs? Maybe they could be folding?

Couple years, don't wanna leave machines on 24/7, that's why I don't fold.
Naw, I curl. I don't fold.

Oh i know this one.
You had a update utility going for your mainboard/computer vendor that automatically updates to the newest drivers and such.
well a new bios update was released, and it auto flashed your bios, and your processor wasn't supported on that bios release.
happened to me with my athlon 64X2 6000+ 65nm that needed a Beta bios to function correctly and the MSi auto updater flashed my bios to the newest standard one.
beoyatches took me 2 weeks to find a older X2 4400+ to borrow for a temp cpu swap
