Ok, i finally got my wire sleeving kit and my pin remover. For the life of me i cant figure it out. Its the type of remover with 2 prongs. I know its "supposed" to slide over the pin and press against the retaining clips. My problem is that when i slide it over the pin, the prongs spread apart and dont press againts the clips. Ive tried it on male and female pins to no avail.
Is there some trick for poping thoes lil SOB's out?

The only ones I've used are tubular, with a plunger in the middle. Different sizes for male and female. The tube slides ober the pin/socket and presses the clips in, then you press the plunger to push the pin out.
Presumably yours is for the female, doesn't the housing itself stop the prongs from spreading?

Ok. I was so pissed at the dumb tool. I searched for an explanation or tutorial or somthing. What i found was this thread over at OC Forums http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=367661 . Basicly what he says to do is. Find a couple pens and use the ink tube as a pin remover. Well my first attempt was a flunk so i desided to use some tiny drill bits to bore out the pen tubes. This is absolutly the easiest thing. I must have grabed just the right drill bit because the pen tube slides over the pins effortlessly and the pins fall out.
I recomend this insted of buying a tool.

This reminds me of when i used to work in Pizza Hut, and some of the guys at HQ would come up with the most stupid promotional crap you can imagine, and we had to use it. Most of the stuff got chucked in the bin semi-immediately.
My favourate was the square spoodle. A spoodle is a big spoon/ladel cross that we use to put the sauce onto the pizzas and spread it out. The guys at HQ came up with...the square one! A square spoon for a round pizza, aye, and those guys get paid more than us? Gimme a break!
Another was a trigger for spray cans. It was a plastic handle and a trigger to take the strain away from your fingers when using the spray. Unfortunately, anyone who knows leverage basic can tell you that this will make the item heavier, and it just shiften the weight directly to your wrist.

Humm..
I got stuck at the atx 20pin connector. The tool i got doesnt work at all for this connector. I tried little bits of metal, plastic, anything i could find. Nothing worked and i ended up pulling a few wires loose from thier pins. Does anyone have a trick for the 20pin connectors?

I just pulled one, for the hell of it...
What you have are square sockets, with two tabs on opposite sides.

I took a tiny screwdriver, 1mm wide.

Pushed it down one side and twisted it to bend the tab in, then did the same at the opposite side for the other tab. the connector could then be pulled out.
Be sure to bend the tabs back out before reinserting it.

Yeah i tried somthing simmilar but not a screwdriver. it wouldnt work for me at all.
Is there any way to get the pin out now that the wire is pulled from the pin? I cant get my needle nose pliers into the back side of the clip to grab the pin.

super glue a toothpick into the pin.

Well, if you've bent the tabs in, it ought to be possible to push the pin out with the screwdriver.
