Not sure if there are any threads about this but is there anyway for me to manually adjust the settings in my laptop. I know for my gf's mac there is a program that easily allows me to adjust the fan settings, but i coudlnt find anything for my dell. I already have external stand with fans that my laptop sits on with the fans around the laptops "hot points", but i still wanted to turn up the fan speed inside.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks

That's odd. It should work with anything, but I'm not entirely surprised with Dell's rambunctious use of proprietary hardware.
You should at least be able to select a 'performance mode' for your fans in BIOS. It's not conveniently accessible, but it should at least turn the fan speed up a bit.

forgot about this post.. i gave up on trying ot get it to work.. it just wouldnt work for me. Just going ot have to rely on my external fan from keeping the thing from overheating.
any other suggestions would be great though
