I have set up a backup machine while I am waiting for the upgrade RAM.
However, my backup mobo (MSI 6566E V1) is giving me problems.

At first, it wouldn't boot up at all. When I removed the battery, it then would spin the fans and HDD up and flash the keyboard lights once. Nothing would display on the screen. HDD and power lights are constantly on. When I turned it off, it would not power back up until I cycled the PSU switch.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Hunches?

Try a different PSU.

sounds like its not getting that "power good" signal from the psu. usually its the grey cable on the psu.

You can take a +5v line (red) and tie it into the P_GOOD wire and it'll run....hahahahha but it won't be to good for it, but i've done it in the past for people just to get them by.

Well, I plugged in another PSU, and WHAM! it booted!

+r2u, mDust.

Well, I now have a bench test victim PSU.
