I've noticed that some laptops (such as mine) have a mPCIe x1 slot on their boards.
I've been wondering, would it be possible to somehow remove the WiFi card (and just use a PC Card wireless card), jimmy-rig-daisy-chain up a mPCIe x1-PCIe x1-PCIe x16-graphics card?
Just need to lug along another monitor :P

(Said nothing about logical :P )

There are some laptops that you can run a special x1 to x16 PCI-e graphics card adapter. You need to run a power supply to the card but it is possible.

Only some laptops can address the card though. Not every expresscard slot/mpci-e can do it. Thunderbolt laptops should be able to do it afaik.

For laptops that can do it, I'm pretty sure the PE4H is the way to go. Performance is supposed to be quite good.

EDIT: Here is some more information. (http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/397667-lets-figure-out-how-make-diy-vidock.html)
