Hi, i'm new on this forum and since i began to read your worklogs several years ago, i've decided this week to build something and share it with you guys. Nothing really hard or 100% handmade, but it would be my first water cooled Pc. My actual computer case is already modded with a lot of laser cutted aluminium pannel (i was operating a laser cutting CNC 3 years ago).
I will include some pics of it in my next post.

So, for the hardware i'm going low budget, re-using my old O/C Amd FX-60, 2gb DDR400, 60gb OCZ Vertex2 SSD and XFX 9800GTX+.

I bought a second used 9800GTX+ from eBay, and a used A8N-SLI Premium to replace my old A8N-E.

The case i will use is a Sunbeam 9-bay acrylic case (cheap and great looking) and i will water cool the cpu with an OCZ HydroFlow HF-MK1 CPU Waterblock and a Swiftech MCP655 pump.
The main feature of this built will be to use an extruded aluminium radiator originaly used for cooling BRP Snowmobile.
This is huge thing; half an inch thick and it will cover the whole side of the pc case. i don't think that you guys has ever seen this kind of cooler on a computer. Hope you will enjoy.

I dig the laser cut products but that SSD.... is that really safe?

why wouldn't it be? those hefty nylon tie wraps aren't going anywhere.

those tie wraps are safe... but since i remove the internal 3.5'' bay, it was the fastest and easiest way to install it.

This is the BRP radiator that i will use

http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/6065/img0106w.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/847/img0106w.jpg/)

Both ends will be welded, and the liquid will pass sucessively the 4 cavities

I'm sure the zip ties are safe myself.

The SSD has no moving parts; it's not going anywere.

Although, adding another one to make a "+" or "H" on it would be safer in transport....

Welcome to TBCS.

The SSD is fine how it is. I don't even think it needs a horizontal tie as SSDs weigh almost nothing and aren't going to overcome the zip tie friction unless you're tossing the case around.

I can't wait to see what you do with that radiator! It looks like a brute...a few, thick fins over a huge area as opposed to hundreds of thin fins in a tiny area. I'm not sure how its surface area compares to the average 360 or 280, but it definitely has sheer size going for it.

that radiator is also meant to have lots of snow thrown all over it from a rotating track too, they don't air cool too well :D
