I ordered an oscilloscope on the 23rd of August from deal extreme (I've been wanting one for over a year) and paid extra (USD$14) for EMS shipping as I wanted it as soon as possible, and figured that it was worth paying the extra to do it. I didn't know that deal extreme has a reputation for being slow to send orders, but I wasn't that annoyed and they sent me a notice of it being shipped on Saturday, I get a tracking ID which confirms it was sent out of China on the 28th of August. I expect the package to be delivered on the Tuesday or Wednesday the next week, but become concerned when the tracking information doesn't shift until yesterday. It's apparently only just arrived in Australia and has been sent to customs (who I emailed after the local post office staff member suggested it was delayed because of customs). But getting back to the point, I paid $14 extra in shipping, and it's only just arrived in Australia?! What the hell?!
And as a note, I've had stuff shipped by EMS before, no issues those times.

all things coming out of china take at least 2 weeks to process threw customs in any country, my mom works for ups global freight and she always has customers calling in complaining. but i get what you mean about paying extra money for shipping and it not being there when it should be.

It should finally be delivered today!
I've also asked deal extreme for a refund for the extra I paid for shipping, since it hasn't been express in any way or form.

It was delivered about 2.5 hours ago, pity I was on my way to uni when it was delivered, pictures tonight!

I had some old o scopes up stairs that probably would have far better served you than dealextreme even being 20 years old. But alas they made us throw everything away.

Here is my new scope! Freshly updated to 100MHz bandwidth via a software patch. It's back in it's box for the moment, but will be coming out to play when I clean up more.

As for deal extreme and the EMS shipping, I've gone through their support and twice asked for a refund for the shipping, but both times they've ignored it (or it's been lost in translation) so I've now opened a paypal dispute in hopes of finally solving it. We'll see what happens now.

No matter what shipping I've chosen from them it always takes 3-4 weeks, so now if I have to get something there I just choose the cheapest. It's pretty lame.

That's what I've decided to do as well from now on. I know it was shipped via EMS, just I can't work out why it was so slow, 2 weeks before I got a parcel from Hong Kong via EMS and it took 3 business days.

Ya, I don't know. I've ordered other things from China and gotten them much faster but no matter how I order from DealExtreme it tends to take the same slow transit time.

Well, paypal refuses to do anything about it...
As stated in
our User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the delivery of
goods. It does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of
goods received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or
issue a refund.
The sad thing, my claim is about the delivery of goods. Not attributes or quality of goods received....
