I guess it's just a cache drive? I don't get it...:?

From what I understand:

It is used in conjunction with a HDD.

It puts the important and frequently used files on the SSD, and the "lesser" (and probably the pagefile) on a standard HDD.
That way, you, in a way, get the high capacity of a HDD, with the speeds of a SSD.

it sounds a lot like the new gigabyte (????) board with the built in ssd. i think that does the same thing by caching "hot" files and leaving the rest on the hdd.

this caching drive by ocz also sounds like it the same as the hybrid drives that are out there, except instead of being built as one unit, this can be used as an "expansion" to an existing hdd.

in my opinion, the only thing that would make this a good seller, is if it is considerably cheaper than a regular ssd. otherwise, what's the point of using this.

Hopefully, it's smart enough to realize what are temporary files.

i still like the ram stick SSD drive idea.

or that SSD that plugs straight into the back of a HDD
