All right, this is my first mod and first post, so please forgive if I sound like a noob. I've started modding my keyboard recently. Took it apart, cleaned it, spraypainted black, sanded, painted, wet sanded, painted, etc etc. It's coming together very nicely. I have seen people that had keyboards painted, and 95% of the time I don't really care for how they turn out. I want mine to look like it came from the factory this way. I'm planning on painting the keys with Krylon Fusion. Here's my problem. It's regarding the keys and I have a million different ideas going through my head. How is the best way to paint the letters on them? Currently it's black letters on white keys. I want black letters on blue keys. Should I use a stencil or press on letters? Ideally I want similar size font, but I would like to use Medieval or Old English letters. Something other than normal letters. Any ideas, tips, etc would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot.

If you have an artistic hand, some enamel model paint and a paintbrush would be a way to go. Other than that I wouldn't have a clue.

After you get it painted, but not finished, paint the letter on. Let it dry, spray your gloss down.

And you will definitely want some type of finish work. If not your paint will chip off in a fairly short amount of time, and that would just suck.

Try using letraset (http://www.letraset.com/shopdisplaycategories.asp?id=17&cat=Rub+Down+Lettering&ssctn=default) rub down letters. You will ned to clear coat over them or they'll rub off again.
Or there's adhesive (http://www.letraset.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=92&cat=Die%2DCut+Lettering&ssctn=default) letters too.

Black on Blue sounds dificult to read unless your using baby blue.
You might want to use Vinyl Dye its thiner than paint. Use a respirator if you do. I would create a stencil and vinyl dye the letters over the dyed keys.

or you could just buy them (http://www.synctronics.com/)

Hey, thanks for the link, I've been looking all over the net for something just like it. I'm going to try printing off the letters on an adhesive backed transparency then clear coating over the top to make it more permanent. But if that doesn't work the way I hope it does, then I'll definitely be buying from that company. I live in MO and the humidity makes it a crappy place to paint, but when I get a chance I'll upload pics after it's all painted and finished in a few weeks.

Ah, ok.
Actually, I was wrong. .mo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.mo) is macau. Mongolia is .mn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.mn)

???? I'm living in Springfield too.
Painting in MO isn't easy.
The rain recently makes it worse.

Yeah, try living at the bottom of the ocean, you think you got it bad, yeesh!

I wonder if that's a threat? Just avoid anyone who tries to sell you new shoes!

Why? I've got a pair of very nice Italian loafers here in your size, I think you'd look great in 'em. Lets just try 'em on and see how you love 'em.

Yo! Guido! Get this guy's loafers.

Im curious how you do things Modfather.

Do you fit the cement shoes, eat his face and THEN send him to sleep with the fishies.....

or do you eat his face first??

Makes it easier to avoid if we know your plans...;)

Well it all depends on whether or not I'm in the mood for something fresh. If I plan to cook the face then I go ahead and send him to sleep with the fishes first, but if I'm in the mood for something on the hoof then I eat the face first. You'd be surprised, you can live quite a long time without a face. (See the movie Dagon for an example).
