I went from a frequent lurker to a frequent poster back to lurker then occasional lurker then hiatus from this site. A lot of things have happened since july when I lost my dogs. Not a whole lot has been for the better but that is a personal matter and not post all over an internet forum type of thing. So how's everyone doing aside from vehicles spontaneously combusting?
Purchasing final parts for a mod.

Got a couple mods in my head right now. A Riddler themed case, and a new case for my old Xbox.
Otherwise, most of what I am doing is in the Misc Projects. Besides redesigning the firing mechanism on a paintball marker.

I'm doing pretty well, all things considered. Got married this past June, and though I've been unemployed for a little over a year now, I had two interviews in the last couple weeks. Both job possibilities are promising, and I just hope one of them results in an offer...it'd be awesome to be off unemployment and working again. :D Haven't modded anything for a long while now due to lack of cash (plenty of time though). Still, once I'm working again I'll get going on my wife's Rivendell mod.

thanks man, I appreciate the thought! And hey, it can't hurt if you know of any graphic/design related opportunities. I'm currently living near Los Angeles, and it's real tough to find anything right now. My wife and I want to stay in California, and one of my recent interviews would have us moving back up near San Francisco, where we're both originally from. I really do want to get going on Rivendell again, and I *think* most of the materials will be relatively cheap. But, money's been tight enough that I haven't wanted to start in on it and then have to leave it half-done. Went through that with the sandcrawler a few times, and it was often a painful process to get going on it again.

lol Oklahoman, Oklahoma Gazette, OG&E, Devon Energy, and Lets GO! oklahoma are all looking for graphic designers
You can also rent a 1,400sqft two story house for about 890$ a month here.
Gasoline is 3.08 a gallon.
My electric bill was 129.34$ last month... and i use a s@#t ton of electrcity (about 800Kw/H)
Did i mention there are plenty of jobs and living is cheap here in oklahoma, and we don't have scanless laws.....I can shoot assault rifles at animals out of my car with no exhaust or emission standards..while spraying a can of brake cleaner consuming a 8 point beer while dating a 16 year old chick legally here in oklahoma. (all of which are illegal in your state)
Did I also mention that procession of marijuana under .50 ounces in weight is a misdemeanor ticket-able offense in Oklahoma... While its a felony with upto a 5 year sentence in your state?
Only draw back?

But hell those are fun unless they are heading right for you..then its scary as s@#t. But i'll take that over living in Kalifornistan any day of the week.
Kudos on solving your debt crisis with illegal black market marijuana sales though, I gave my hats off to that when i watched frontline the other week lol!

hah my moms last trip to california.
She got off the plane, left the airport and went to the bank.
Aaaannnd the bank was robbed while she was inside.. That's got to be a new record of some type 20 minutes off the plane and your already in a california bank robbery.
FYI its legal here in oklahoma for civilians to use deadly force against someone in the commission of a violent felony, Thats probably why the bank robbery rate is so low in oklahoma... people know there going to step outside the bank to this.

(yea buddy thats IED's...73mm cannon 35mm bushmaster tank gun and Dillon M134 Chaingun..all legal in Oklahoma)
Ever make it out to Oklahoma in June and i'll take you out there.... you can shoot pretty much any firearm you can think of.. just bring about 500$ for ammunition cause you'll dump 70$ in 17 seconds with that event hahaha.
[edit] Kids get bullet resistant vests army style helmets and eye,ear protection for free at the event just in case your wondering, and no children allowed under 4. but there hasn't been a accidental shooting at any of the events in its whole history : )

Heh - Cali life is actually pretty awesome aside from the insane cost of living(especially in southern CA). We're close to Los Angeles but not in it, actually almost an hour northwest of it. You'd never know we were close to LA - no smog, very suburban, wealthy area, million dollar mansions all over the place. In fact, my wife used to teach some kids piano in a 32 million dollar French estate style mansion...
I've usually found that non-Californians impressions of the state aren't all that accurate. I'd say the only bad thing about living here is the usually ridiculous cost of living. We thought it was expensive where we're at in southern CA ($1700-ish for a decent 2 bedroom apartment), but we recently looked at moving to the San Francisco area, and up there oftentimes it's a ONE bed apartment going for $1700!!
I'll have to look into those jobs - not sure I can convince my wife to move to the midwest LOL, but if they pay decently we just might...
I am on the other end of the country but I have family in the frisco area I will try and put some feelers out for ya
Thanks!!
