Just out of curiosity, is it possible to paint your waterblocks? Not the bottom of course, but it seems to me like it wouldn't be too hard to paint the top. Also, what kinds of paint would you recommend?

Just tossing idea's out there :)

Depends on what the block is made of. I don't see any harm at all in painting it as long as you keep paint out of the holes and threads for the fittings. Most can be taken apart and painted as well which will make it easier. You could paint the block one color and the mounting bracket another

as above, i don't see why not.

i'd suggest using krylon fusion paint. it is designed specifically for painting on plastics (assuming the water block is plastic) but also works well on metal without primer. it also lays down nice and smooth. it's definitely better than their "graffiti quality" spray paint.

hmm, let me see if i can find some links..

http://goo.gl/kDZMw - looks like copper and stainless steel

http://goo.gl/PptaA - stainless steal and acetal

so that krylon paint doesnt sound like a bad choice :)

i used it to repaint all the plastic in my car. it has held up for 3 years now without fading and or cracking. it's good quality stuff.

Hmm, so you mentioned it works fine without a primer, how about clear coat? Would you recommend that?

everything i used, i needed a satin finish. so i didn't use clear coat. however, my body guy uses it as a primer for plastics and then paints over it with another spray paint of an appropriate color, so i don't see why a clear coat wouldn't work just fine.

Don't see anything about using it with plastic though

i just used the krylon paint with primer on a piece of plexiglass for the saab pc and it laid out real nice.

i'd still suggest using the krylon fusion though.

glad to hear it's working good for you.

i got the fan the other day, but couldn't get the blades off to paint them, so it stayed clear.
