so, its basically a stock base version of my last car. steelies, stock grill, no spoiler, etc. base. same color, kinda funny. anyways, i'm going to be modding it interior-wise. thinking about potentially installing a computer in dash, to a small 5.6" head unit. re doing it custom, all. replacing wheels, potentially a carbon fiber hood. i've always loved those. just curious if anyone is interested in seeing a worklog.... if nothing else, ill post pics of the new scion, old scion pre wreck, and after wreck. :whistler:
EDIT: also, my computer mods are being put on hold so funds can go to my new car.

Do I have multiple personalities? And my chebby ain't rusty In fact, I found a new frame, and cab to fix that problem. The only rust I have is on the rockers, and the cab corner.:lick:
And ill remember that other guy remark the next time I gotta explain something to you!:D
But really, your are right. Some Scion action would be cool. Be nice not to have the boxiest vehicle on the site anymore!

sooo.... im going to redo the steering wheel first, right now its a plastic one. being replaced with http://www.brandsport.com/toy-08460-52820-scion-xb.html
im also putting in a dell pos under the passenger seat, to try to see if i would use a in car computer, having it hooked up to my in dash dvd player setup... small screen. if i like it, i am going to mod one in the dash opening, shown here
http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/2230/243019046067e92059bb.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/190/243019046067e92059bb.jpg/)
with an i3 and potentially a larger built in screen, like a mimo monitor or something...
also, potentially paint the dash. i know, it sounds retarded, but it looks boss when you see it, guaranteed. im trying to figure out what all to paint... here are some examples.

Is that a entire steering wheel? If so, most vehicles require a specific puller to get them off, and working around clock springs can be hell. you will also want to unhook the ground on the battery before unhooking the airbag. I've done it without, but messing with a explosive device inches from your face, it is a serious gamble...
As for painting, go for it if you have access to a good professional painter, or have the resources/ability to do it yourself. Rattle can in a car turns south really fast. I've worked on my fair share of Honda's, and Acura's with spray bombed interiors. They always end up very dull, and flake/chip.
Do the carputer. I wouldn't mind doing one in my truck, but I don't think I'd ever get it to hold up. One thought I had was using a Wiimote for control, but a touch screen is the way to go. Being able to easily control stuff like media players while driving is important.

only with the proper exhaust and appropriate feathering of the accelerator pedal.

yeah, i am somewhat mechanically inclined. my dad has the torx set and steering wheel puller sets already. shouldn't be a problem, but thanks for the heads up. as for the painting, no rattle cans. they turn out like crap, like you said. i am going to remove the dash completely if i was to do it, airbrush a better paint and clear coat on. i was planning on color matching it to the red steering wheel i am going to install. :D

That serves chrome very well, something built in the last two decades you will get the same reply of eww and no. Just as the only flair a 4x4 needs is varying shades of mud not truck nutz.

Truck nuts are for chumps anyway. Pintle hitches are where it's at! Or as I like to call them, grill catchers.
Or as I like to call them, girl catchers.

I did hear about in one state they made it illegal to leave a hitch in when not towing because some high up woman in the state walked into one.

That's when you jump stomp on the rear bumper and cave the whole rear end off that plastic piece of crap.
ain't nothing but 8 small screws and 4 flared pins holding the average rear end together these days.

exactly, but you don't sidestep, you wait till they are just about to hit you, then jump up, and when they get pissed, say they shoulda been lookin, its sad, really. ive done carts at target, and i had some lady get in her jeep, with a row of carts behind her, starts it up, throws it in reverse, and gooses it into the the row. then she gets out with her hands on her hips, like a wtf. the best part is, her sun shade was up while she was in reverse! this is how kids get ranover. she gave me a look like it was my fault... haha. stupid people drive me insane. i can only tolerate so much in a day, without getting completely hulk style mad. "hulk smash?" :D
