For the longest time (well since release really) I wanted a Thermaltake Mozart TX case...

http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2007/03/09/four_unique_atx_cases_compared/mozart_tx-1.jpg

At release it was out of my budget, and they seemed to quickly get discontinued - the few I've seen on fleabay have been scary money but....

Persistence is a virtue (allegedly heh)....

For those who can't see the page (idn if it having ended makes a difference), the auction was for...

Thermaltake Mozart TX media case
ITX Intel Atom 1.2ghz dual core mobo, 1gb 667mhz ddr2
Thermaltake ITX PSU
Multiple quiet 12cm fans
Tuniq tower, arctic pro 7
8gb various DDR2 1066mhz RAM
Various cables, screws, fans, HHDs etc
22 inch monitor

I put the first and only bid of £100 on the item, and won it - I already have the monitor sold for £40/£50 so I'm only about £50 out of pocket for a case I always wanted and a full Atom based mini-ITX setup... (For those of you on the other side of the pond, that's about $160 total, $80 final cost to me)

Ok, add about £20 for diesel to go collect the thing heh

Great find! But why on earth would the previous owner put a mini-ITX system in such a massive case?

It's a dual system case - you can put a full size PC in there AS WELL AS a mini-itx system :)

I hope an epic mod comes with this case.

I'm thinking two things initially - one, I finally have a case big enough to be a temporary home for my server, so I might be able to do something with my LianLi 343b cube case, or ya know, the Thermaltake DOES look kinda TARDIS shaped.....

hey now air cooling can be cool to.

especially when you start throwing custom ducting around into the chassis.

but man i remember those, thems some sweet chassisisisisisiis. : )

I think watercooling is fast becoming less and less beneficial - there are Air coolers out there now which can do an awesome job without being stupidly noisy. I always considered watercooling a way to keep overclocked systems cool without excessive noise, and you can now do exactly that, with air cooling, for a fraction of the cost of watercooling.

In smaller systems, where space is at a premium I can maybe, just, justify the cost of watercooling, but in this chassis - I can't see any benefit other than to the people who charge interest on my credit cards :P

The only thing I want to water cool anymore is my 360 and my itx board... other than that It's just more **** to try and manage.

Also dr who mod for the win.

Hmm, now I need to source one of those cool 7" retractable screens Thermaltake brought out for this case - ideally for a similarly bargainous price lol

Is the ITX system going spare?

Not at the moment - it's a possibility though, depending on the outcome of some thinking I have to do :S
