You see them all the time: Parody songs. We take another artist's song (hey, as amateurs, we gotta start somewhere!), and we re-theme it.
The two most famous Minecraft parodies that come to mind are CaptainSparkles' "TNT" and "Revenge". Both are excellent.
The problem is, there aren't many originals.
I have decided to take it upon myself to revive my music making skills.
I am using my favorite program MT2 to make the tunes.

I want to make it sound semi-8-bit, but make it sound like it could be an actual Minecraft song.

Title:
"Minecraft"

Lyrics (so far):

Vs. 1
I woke up to see
Such a big surprise:
The world has changed
Right before my eyes.
I am all alone.
I look at my hand.
It is not normal.
I get up to stand.
I wanted things right,
to be squared away.
But this is extreme.
I'm stuck in a game.
I am so upset
As to what I see.
I punch the ground hard.
It pops up at me.
I knew what this was
I knew my friend's trap.
It could only be
One thing: <pause> MINECRAFT.

Lyrics aren't in the song (yet) because I'm still figuring out the tune.

Two things:

Who thinks they are a good singer?
This is a TBCS exclusive! ('til it's Youtube ready, of course ;))

Nothing major, just added the in-game noteblock sounds.
Hey, I'm making music, might as well add them!

Well, I've gotten a hold of the developer, and he, I, and a couple others are finishing up MT3! Soon to be released! Wootz!

It's early enough in the tune, I can wait a bit, in the off chance it doesn't support the MT2 format....

Look at me, shoutin' program names out :P

Well, I haven't been able to do much, but I did get my outro of the clip started.
Not going to be a part of the song, but everything needs to be in tip-top shape.

Well, just doing a bit of math here....
Noteblocks operate at 1/10th of a second apart. So, 10 per second.
60 seconds per minute (duh)
60*10=600
4 is the average for notes per beat.
600/4=125 beats per minute.

That'll make sectioning up easier.

Seriously though, if you're interested in helping out at all, PM me, Skype me, Steam me, email me!

(Steam me.... that sounds bad >_<)

I'm pretty handy with Virtual DJ and the plug ins.

But it sounds like you've got your hands in stuff a lot deeper then virtual DJ w/ Beatgrid and mixilizer.

Naw, I got something that makes VDJ look like a child's toy...

If you know how to handle it, that is ;)

But, it DOES have a "simple" operation.

Haven't visited this thread in a while...

Well, MT3 ain't comin' out any time soon.

As for MT2? I've got a lot more experience with it now!

(Just wish Wine would still play sounds with it...)
