I can get the down on cable (upto 30Mbps dn) but I wish I could hit that upload (1Mbps up max)!
I can only get wideband (upto 50Mbps dn, 5Mbps up) here through cable for $100/mo. They don't offer fiber but I can't wait.
lucky
If it goes out one day, it will not be me re-routing your line to my house. lol

we can get 24mbps down 5mbps up here off cox premier packages.
and 50/55mbps down 8mbps up off ultimate.
but i aint paying no 124$ a month for it.
http://ww2.cox.com/residential/connecticut/internet/premier-internet.cox
16 down (more like 18 ) down and 4mbps up (and more like 1.5) for 34.99 is perfect for me.

i also have cox at home and get mid 30's down and 4-6 up(ill do a speedtest when i get home). i have a nice docsis 3 modem so i get better than advertised, at least according to the tech that installed. possibly because most of the people in my neighborhood use att for internet for some reason(at least according to the open networks.

Whats amatta you? Show your speed with pride!
*update*
Looking at the comparison chart, im getting ripped off. lol It says I should have upto (yes i know) 5Mbps but I can't even hit 1 consistently. wtmf

I think I'm promised 2 down, .5 up. So, it's just slow. At $20 a month, it seems somewhat fair.
I'm still interested in other ISPs.
This is EXTREMELY strange:

I get better speeds from SLC, 200 miles away, than the IF server, <50 miles away!
And Boise, completing the "triangle":

100~200ms response time is terrible unless your across an ocean.
Anyone have a 3/4G service I can compare to?
*No wonder it's slow! It's re-routing to Idaho Falls! From where I live!
Still, that doesn't explain why Idaho Falls had the worst out of the three speeds.
Again, I'm open to opinions for other ISPs. No phone or TV services, as we'll NEVER use them.

There is 2 things to remember with that connection result.
1. The telco that's providing it hasn't finalised plans on the network, so it's a 'free' connection until they do.
2. The connection is capable of 25/5 (I saw peaks of 28mbps when I was testing quickly, I only got to do a test once on the connection, and via wireless) because that's what the Telco has said during their trial. The network is capable of delivering upto 1000/400Mbps, although commonly it's upto 100/40Mbps (with a step to 50/20 from the 25/10 and 25/5 plans) sold to residential areas. It is also possible to buy multiple 100/40 connections over the single fibre link.
Cable doesn't compare when you think about it ;P

Yeah, I know cable really doesn't have much on fiber. Lol
3G test with 3-4bars during test
Down- 599kbps
Up- 141kbps
So, the limiting factor is the fact that I'm using WiMax.

Luckies. lol
Yeah, Am. I would go with wifi effecting you. lol
Test 1 3G (solid 3bar)
Png- 108ms
Dwn- 793kbps
Up- 460kbps
Test 2 3G (solid 4bar)
Png- 136ms
Dwn- 882kbps
Up- 378kbps
Using the speedtest app on the phone, it doesn't give me an option of a test server and is going to Madison which is 70+ miles away versus Milw which is <50mi.
Only problem with cable/DSL: They try to have phone attached, which, again, cell phones take care of it; we don't need $80/month for services we'll never use (because they were "beneficial" services [shakes fist at Qwest]). Subscription TV is not fine (our DVD/BD/VHS collection is IMMENSE, and we're fine with BunnyEarTV).

hulu.com is free and has tons of current and past TV shows but nothing like netflix has.
But hulu is free (did i mention its free?)
they do have a slightly larger portion of content for hulu+ subscribers (for like 8$ a month) but its not really worth it honestly after having it for a few months.
^That, and Youtube.
Soon, VCRPuter will be finished.
Need everything except case and PSU.

Wait... AmEv, you are only <50 miles from IF?
According to that, at least.
But, I am about 2 hours away from you, definitely.

I was gonna say... lol I didn't think we were THAT close.
So, unless the base station is there, and I've got a satellite backbone....
PM me when you're in the South-Central region.
Maybe we might bump into each other.

Will do man, I am in the Burley-Twin-Jerome Walmarts every once and a while.
EDIT:
DigitalBridge or Bridgemaxx or whatever they are calling themselves these days is based in IF so that is probably why the Microserv speedtest server is only <50 Mi away. They must chain the signal all the way back to IF, that is why your connection sucks. lol (Course it sucks around here too, and we are only ~10 miles away)

Cable isn't Fibre to the home ;P
He's probably a Telstra customer, they're upgrading their HFC cable network to DOCSIS3.0. While your speed goes up massively, your upload doesn't really go up.
