I was wondering... If you pay $60 to buy a game (lets assume the purchase is made from a retail outlet) how are the profits allocated?

that's probably in with the publisher part of the deal.

I can honestly say, that on about 90% of new games the retail profit margin is NOT that high. try more like 5-10 bucks depending on the title. Course some distributors give bulk discounts, so if you are a big box company the cost will be a few dollars less maybe. But even at Wallyworld where I work, the margin is not that high.

the chart is from 2002 before the 2nd great depression hit (but lets not call it that sshh) so the percentages are probably off a bit at this point i'd guess?
