I'm at work and I'm unbelievably bored. I work in a call center and our client is having one of their semi-annual client meetings so no one is calling the help desk.
What do you guys do when your bored at work? It's been an hour and a half and I've already exhausted my usual web sites.

I read through facebook and the like 10 forums I'm on. I mainly look at mods but lately I've been looking at picking up some goodies.

Is it bad that I read this thread and posted while being bored at work also? :whistler:

ask your boss "What can I do, I have nothing to do right now?"
Games?
Is MC blocked (if you have it)?

ask your boss "What can I do, I have nothing to do right now?"
LOL. I'll pass.
Though honestly they wouldn't give me anything else to do because if they did I wouldn't be available to take phone calls.
-A lot of websites are blocked. I can browse forums but can't go to any Social Media or Streaming Entertainment sort of pages. Any games I play are usually on my Ipod.

that would be a bad idea for me right now. people get put on the list for the next round of layoffs asking stuff like that right now.
Drool over some of the completed worklogs.

you can usually circumvent that by using the physical IP address of the website instead of the DNS www.facebook.com or such
just open a CMD prompt and ping what you want, like lets say facebook.
so just ping www.facebook.com and it'll give you a reply from 69.171.224.14
just enter that 69.171.224.14 into your browser tab and it ought to go right through...well at least until the IT department sees it.

You know what... That just might work but I'm not sure if I have the balls to do it.
But i did notice that my one friend was able to get to Myspace when he looked up a band he liked. The band had a Custom domain that redirected to their Myspace page and it loaded no problem but when we actually tried to go to Myspace the page wouldn't load. We concluded that they were probably just filtering domains.
Maybe I'll test it out later, though i probably wouldn't want to get caught circumventing the Web Filter.

Tell them you were helping test the security of the network.

Tried the IP for Facebook. It was blocked lol. I imagine its a combination of Domain/IP filtering.

oooo yea.
They've got those redirect sites as well, but those are probably blocked if they are already IP filtering.
Sometimes forum links work as well. because i used to not be able to fart around on the battleground forums because www.wwiionline.com was blocked.
But going to gophurs website, then clicking his link to the forums would grant access.
Play games/watch EVTV/netflix/Hulu/etc on the ~25' screen on the wall in front of my desk? :whistler:
...that being said, I rarely get bored enough at work to play games anymore...what with all the development work I volunteered for outside of my normal service desk work. ;)

Heheh, that. /\ Just set up a VM running an SSH server and do a SOCKS proxy. ;)
