Seems kinda useless. If the site is down, it's down for everyone. If your connection is down, you can't even visit //isup.me

So many archives and mirrors and alternatives these days that if a site is down, or bugs me to register or captcha just so I can read something, or offends me with a popup or way too much loser junkcrap on screen ... I can find a ten better sites with the desired information in fewer than ten seconds.

In a perfect world, yeah, but if something's funky with your connection, or something somewhere in either your ISP or the webserver's ISP is malfunctioning but not completely nonfunctional, sites like this can be useful. I know I've used similar sites quite a few times. Also helps you figure out if a site is being blacklisted. ;)
