As you're about to see, I really like the Cooler Master HAF 912. I used it for my AMD Bulldozer mod and now I'm using it again. This time, however it's going to be my daughters' (I have two of 'em) new playroom PC. They currently have an HP Slimline that is four years old. It features the first AMD dual core, the Athlon X2 3800+, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HD and the GeForce 8400

Once again I stripped the whole thing down to the base metal
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090218.jpg
And blasted it with Krylon Plum paint!
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090919.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090920.jpg
And I painted the front panel mesh purple too
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090921.jpg
All of the original black plastic will be repainted to white

Nice! I'm not a huge fan of purple PCs but I do really like how they look

hahahah shes gonna love it i'm sure!
You want me to forward you the website i ordered the decals for the Japanese blossom computer to you? They've got tons of other colors plants styles and stuff like that available. It's basically a vinyl sheet like this that they send you.

Might help jazz up the case if it's going to be a simple spray and glow mod.
I've also still got the site saved i used to order the 3mm pink/purple/white LED's for its HDD and power LED's

Once the paint had dried, I reassembled the front bezel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090923.jpg
And added the 200mm UV purple fan
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090925.jpg
Next came the DVD drive and Cooler Master logo
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090926.jpg
I painted the hard drive bay white to contrast the purple. Funny this is, I won't even be using a 3.5 inch drive
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090930.jpg
Next, I finished painting the right panel
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090932.jpg
Time to look at my components. First off is the PC Power & Cooling 600 Watt modular PSU
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090933.jpg
I scoured my modding area looking for DDR3 and found two 4GB OCZ sticks and two 1GB Crucial sticks for a total of 10GB of RAM!!
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090934.jpg
Here's my motherboard. It's an AM3+ board too just in case I only want to swapt the proc in the future. I even bought two Purple SATA data cables.
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090935.jpg
I'm going to add the PSU to the case first
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090936.jpg
Except that I don't want the Volts/Amps sticker on top of the PSU
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090937.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090938.jpg
The water cooling gromets went back on too
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090940.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090941.jpg
I put the Processor and memory on the board, but I can't test it till I buy a heatsink
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090943.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090946.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090948.jpg
I love that the PSU is modular. I only need to add the one SATA power cable for the hard drive and DVD. One of the SATA leads will be adapted to power the lights and fans in the case too
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090949.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090950.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090954.jpg
I've already added one of the purple lights to the drive bay. It should shine on the video card

I picked up a Cooler Master S524 Heatsink
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090957.jpg
But decided it needed to have a 140mm NZXT fan instead

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090962.jpg
The Sapphire 6770 is a stupid amount of overkill for this build
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090963.jpg
And I still have to clean up the wiring, but I'm still waiting for a few more parts
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090964.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090971.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090975.jpg
The PC boots just fine. I hate how there's no longer a screen that says what processor you're using and how much RAM is installed

Most motherboards will still show that info if you want them to - have a dig around in the BIOS and turn off fastboot or something similar - you may then see the black n white you mention

I got these great 120mm UV Purple fans on eBay. These are hard to find!
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090988.jpg
Two are intakes on the front
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090989.jpg
And a rear exhaust
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090990.jpg
Then I painted the 2.5 inch drive adapter to match the bay
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090976.jpg
I'm using a Sandisk 120GB SSD. This will be the only hard drive in the system
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090977.jpg
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090978.jpg
And its mounted in the bay
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090981.jpg
I also added two UV cathodes to the case
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090979.jpg
Now to add the window
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090982.jpg
I wound up going a bit bigger then I originally had planned, covering the HAF logo
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090984.jpg
But I made a stencil so I could put a new, slightly smaller one in it's place
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090983.jpg
Next I paint the panel. Actually I already have, but it's coming out like crap

I was thinking about how attention to detail could make or break a project, so I painted the slot covers too

Here's the mesh I used to cover the back of the GTX 560 on my OCZ mod
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090997.jpg
After I cut it to size, I also cut out a piece of paper to use as a substrate
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090998.jpg
Then I painted the mesh
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090999.jpg
And I used some double-sided adhesive tape
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100005.jpg
To bond the paper and mesh to the card
http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100006.jpg

I just remembered you said in one of your earlier posts - how attention to detail can make or break a project - I looked over the back of your rig in the pic and that IO panel cover looks dull and slivery grey LOL...maybe you paint white too with purple markings :D Just a thought...

I love everything about this build, but the mesh on the video card is not a good look...

I partially agree.
needs to be hammered against a metal edge into a perfect shape.

That is the coolest room i've seen in awhile, Although i'm sure the ladies aren't to keen on it.
The PC boots just fine. I hate how there's no longer a screen that says what processor you're using and how much RAM is installed
Thats a setting in the Bios itself, Usually a name like "display logo" or "display diagnostic screen" or "active P.O.S.T" almost every MSi board i've ever bought came defaulted with that logo screen instead of the POST
As it turns out, DOS mode now makes people scared s@#tless so manufacturers have completely hidden it away only to run in the background.
