Some guy in Russia managed to make a facebook account with my email address. I got an email from facebook (legit, actually facebook) asking me to click a link to confirm my account. I figured that there would at least be an option after clicking the link to say that I didn't make the account, or that the email would have instructions to not click the link if I didn't make the account, but neither of those things happened. Instead, I activated an account linked to my email, but all in Russian and with some other guy's name.
Needless to say I was a little pissed off and spent about 20 minutes getting the account back to me. Not that I think this person ever had my email password, I changed it anyway. Then . . . I deleted my/his facebook account . . . again . . . after three years without one.
Seriously, I never even think about facebook anymore except the rare times when there's some sort of contest that requires you to use it. I had this small irritating idea that perhaps I should just have an account of my own so this doesn't happen again, but I decided against it. Instead, if it happens again I will complain to facebook about it . . . again . . . on deaf ears.
