Does anyone know if its possible to find laptop parts? I have a dell latitude and the fan is starting to make weird noises. It's still blowing but I'm not sure how long its gonna keep going. Are there retailers that specialize in these sort of parts or is this something you typically have to contact the manufacturer about?

Warranty?

Either way you can get a new one from their website. Or chat/call them to get the part number. I got one for my Inspiron 1720 for like $15.

No warranty but I looked on the dell website and it looks like they sell the fans Refurbished still. Not sure if that means the fan was repaired or if it was just reclaimed from a damaged laptop and cleaned up.
But they were pretty cheap so im gonna pick one up.

The fan in my HP laptop bit the dust. The point that the fan spins on wore through the little stamped flimsy metal that it runs against, causing the fan blades to touch the housing. Unfortunately, they sell the entire two fans/cooling plate/loops combo together... for $280. I can get a new laptop for that. I gutted it out, mounted a $10 Pentium CPU cooler with fan on it, and will be turning it into a wall mounted all-in-one in the near future. HP sucks at cooling.

Parts for the Dell systems seem to be more easily sourced. Good luck with the repair.
