I want to buy a new mobo for my system and I was just wondering if both of these boards have two dedicated x16 PCI-e slots. I know that the A8N32-SLI Deluxe has got the two dedicated x16 slots but is it the same for the A8N-SLI Premium or does its slots run at x8?
Please Help.

they are both 2X 16x pci-e slots. any sli board will have 2 16x pci-e. i have never heard of a dedicated pci-e slot that is not 16x.

look for yourself..

I mean that when your running SLI it divides the power so that you end up having them running at half capacity. I know the A8N32-SLI Deluxe doesnt do this and both the slots always stay at max capacity. I was just wondering if the other board does the same.

No they don't both have the true x16 that you're looking for. the A8N32-SLI Deluxe is the only one that does (the 32 at the end tells you any one with a name that has 32 has the true x16 x16 mode the 32 stands for 32 PCIe pipelines) Even though X16 for both doesn't help a great amount (I recently moved from the A8R-MVP to the A8R32-MVP Deluxe and only moved up 100 points in benchmark scores).

Thanks. Just the answer I was looking for. Just one more question, which one should I get. I'm thinking of just running a single 7900GTX so the 2 true x16 wont really make a difference. And there is a $50 AUS difference between the boards. So which one should I get.

does either have more options? look at what options each board gives you. if one has an option the other doesnt and you want it, then go for that one. id say, if they both have the same, and your benchmarks will go up only 100 points, then $50 AUS is far from worth it.

The only reason that I would go with the Deluxe myself is that it has better cooling that comes with it. You won't actually get any performance increase if you are only running a single video card, the only reason I got any increase is because I've got 2 ATI X1600's which communicate with each other over the PCIe bus.

The deluxe comes with all the better features though doesn't it and i agree the cooling is better. Later on I might get a PPU though so I was thinking that it might give it a slight power boost.

i think the only real difference is that the premium has firewire and the deluxe doesnt , idk i could be wrong , i have the premium though , great mobo

just wanted to say that the deluxe has firewire on a bracket. I have the deluxe and i love it.

I hope you are getting a PPU VERY MUCH later because it isn't looking to good for Ageia in my opinion.

this might not help but i bought the a8n 32 because it has heat pipes but ther is a down side if i install sli i cant use my sound card as the coolers on the gpu cover up the pci slots rendering them use less

It covers the 2nd PCI slot too?

Your video cards have a 2 slot design then, even with that you can put your sound card in the PCI slot directly above the second card.
