Well after reading OvRiDe’s post

Interesting article over at THG. Looks like Intel may have taken back the overclocking crown.

http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/10/dual_41_ghz_cores/

I’ve decided I want to try out a socket T rig (LGA 775) I want to use it mostly for my movies and music sort of like a media / server rig might play some games on it to (when I have friends over) so if any of you come across a Mobo with these or close to these specs I’d appreciate the feed back

1. must use Intel Pentium D 805
2. 2 IDE Prefer 4
3. 4 or more SATA
4. Dual Channel ram
5. Stability this is probably the most important since I will be Overclocking it
Thanks for the help

this is the board you want. you want a 4.1 overclock with that processor? well.. this board will allow it. only very few boards with certain chipsets will allow that kind of overclock, and this'll get it. im building the same rig. this board, and the d 805. hope to see the same results.

if you read the entire article, it will tell you what boards they used to get that overclock. this is actually one of them.

(i use canadacomputers a lot, well obviously cause im in canada. for this board, they are much more reasonable than lets say tigerdirect.com)

note: intels chipset 955x and 975x are the best ones to achieve your goal for o'c

That was an impressive article. It also review 4 mobos. Read it more in depth and you will find them. Try the ASUS board they used.

Read the whole thing. The impressive part is how high they got it with a zalman air cooler.

if you are running that cpu and trying to get that overclock.. jsut what nil8

Or go with a watercooling setup. The Zalman is a great one, though. A friend of mine just built a rig using that same cooler.

I love the Zalmans. Unfortunate that they cost so damn much.
