Those are really cool. How did you take them, a camera shooting through a telescope?
Didn't see them until now as I was sleeping at 2am, hehe.

You can't actually see any of the equipment. That's just where the site is. There are telescopes powerful enough that we could go ahead a look and prove that we went there (because we did), but they are being used for better things that proving some conspiracy people wrong.
Cool photographs, and yeah, us U.S. people were all sleeping.

ah well i sell these photographs, so i'm rather inclined to keep them from spreading across the internet for free.
and the moon isn't scary.. its a beautiful object that i try and look at as often as i can.
and yea these we're taken by sticking my camera upto the lens of the telescope.. a big big 1600mm dobsonian reflector.

Shouldn't that be more like the real moon hit by asteroids and crashing into earth like in that TV series....Impact I think :D

That would have to be something about the size of Ceres ( dwarf planet between mars and Jupiter) to make that happen.
and even then its extremely hard to overcome two negative charged things of a similar size (the moon is about 1/4 of the circumference of earth, and has a iron core...which is huge compared to the size of other moons and there host planets. ) wanting to push apart from each other.
after all magnetic force is what keeps you from falling through the floor or being able to walk through walls.

i was just being a smart a$$. oh, and i DO believe we went to the moon.

stop that! it makes me scared to think that the only thing holding the wheels on my truck is the magnetic bond between the atoms. i prefer to think of my axles as solid rather than mostly empty space and you are not helping me with that illusion.
Walking through walls....

Totally random, but its hilarious.
Funny part though?
Cats looking through the star finder, and not the actual telescope....

I was more just answering the question for anyone wondering. The cool thing is though, there are retroreflectors left on the moon, so you can shoot a laser up and it will bounce right back to you. You can measure the time it takes to get back to measure our distance from the moon. My grandpa has done it.

I loved the moon photos till I saw the one with the cat. Being an orange tabby owner myself...that's the best photo of the lot, hands down
