Does anyone use a Saitek Eclipse Keyboard and if so what methode does it use to illuminate the keys? The reason I ask is I want one but they dont come in green backlight so if its as simple as replacing some leds then I'll get one, I just dont want to buy one and find out its more work than I'm willing to do. Thanks

No, it's most likely not LED's, it's more than likely a form of EL wire. There's a nice breakdown of the Logitech G15 in this month's Maximum PC that shows how it's lit and I'm pretty sure the Eclipse is lit the same way. But it probably wouldn't hurt to open it up and have a look inside. If it is EL wire of some sort chances are you could replace that too.

Surface-mounted LEDs, there is no EL Wire in this.
I know we talked about this subject in another thread but I cant find it back.

Yeesh, that's a lot of LED's then.
The voltage will be different for different colored ones won't it though?

The voltages would be different, but on such a low supply of power to begin with I think it would just balance out, ie. you have higher voltage LEDs, they are just dimmer, you have lower voltage LEDs that are a little brighter.

Ya think? Hmm, well, I never have had any luck working with LED's, as much as I try I can never get the darned things to light up, I've since given up on working with 'em.
