Hey guys, I have finally found employement again after a LONG year and a half. I start in a couple weeks, and it'll be nice to finally have some income again...which means modding (eventually) :lick: I'm looking forward to it...it'll be nice to be out doing something again!

Thanks guys! I'll be working for a Worker's Comp insurance rating company as a Field Rep, driving to various businesses 4 days a week, figuring out what types of things they do, and then writing up reports for their worker's comp insurance carriers to make sure they're properly classified and thus being charged at the right rate.

The company is based in San Francisco, CA but I'll be working down in Los Angeles, which I live close to. It's a stable company (been around for 97 years), should be excellent for a very different type of work experience compared to my past, and there's room to move up in the company eventually. My dad started his career there 40-odd years ago doing the same thing, and he'll retire at the end of this year as their Chief Operating Officer, one step down from the CEO. (and I'm happy to say that he had no involvement in my hiring, aside from initially informing me of the job opening). The only downside to the job is a lot of hours on the road, and it doesn't help that I live about 50 miles from the primary area I'll be working in. But, there's a lot of perks like flexible scheduling that I think will offset this. And I have some occasional graphics work that I can continue doing on the side; graphics is something that I still love to do.

So yeah. Good job opportunity, pays more than many of the entry-level graphics jobs out there, I could potentially stay there for the rest of my career and work my way up, flexible scheduling once I'm trained...I think it'll be good! Plus my income will jump up several hundred dollars above what it's at now, which will take the earning pressure off my wife :)

What's nice too is that since I don't start for a little over a week, it kinda feels like I'm on vacation right now :D

LOL...yeah it's nice to have the "I need a job NOW" worry lifted. I won't start getting paychecks for a month so money will still be a bit tight for awhile. The best part though is going thru all my job board emails and hitting unsubscribe
