I guess if I don't pay, then they can't search for me....I don't understand.

Don't spam them, but report them instead :D Your site's showing up in searches is dependant on the meta data that you would have as part of your website design...hosting has nothing to do with it...

Just completely ignore any messages you get regarding your domain unless they come from either nominet.org or your web hosting provider. I run dozens of domains for myself and customers and get at least one of these a month - it's basically some company trying to get you to send them money for services you probably aready get or don't need. Even if you need them or don't get them, personally I'd refuse to deal with them on the grounds of the underhanded bulls*** way they try to get your business by deceit
