We got our first DSLR today. Canon T3i. It came with an 18mm-55mm IS (Image Stabilization) kit lens. This thing is awesome so far! The wife is playing with all of the auto modes. I'm shooting all manual. :banana:

I have been saving and watching for sales on the T3i myself, mainly for its additional ability to shoot high quality HD video as well as photography.

Oh snap! I got my first DSLR this recently too, you are going to love that thing. T3i is a strong model, I looked them real close when shopping and damn near got one. Can't wait to see some photos by Rick!

Curtis - Best Buy has it with an 18mm-55mm lens for $708 this week.

Here's one I took tonight. They're LED's stapled behind an Iwo Jima silhouette that stands in front of my house. I can't wait to get out and spend some quality time with this thing. I'm blown away already!

Wow awesome pictures. I just got a T2i for Christmas (next model up I think) and I love using it. I've been really wanting to buy another lens but they're just so dang expensive.

Thanks! yeah those lens can run a cost, you might want to keep an eye on Craigslist though. I have seen some pretty nice sellers there.

Goofy - The T2i is the model below mine. Same resolution and sensor, but mine has a fold out LCD, Bluetooth, and some zoom function in video mode that the t2i doesn't have.
Crenn - your version would be the 600D.
