Every week Micro Center emails their special deal to all of their customers. This time the ad had my Bulldozer mod pictured in it. No one ever even told me either!

Well, it looks like they give you credit at least . . . and probably they talked to a lawyer first, or they funded the project, or something.

I paid for the case, motherboard and DVD drive. And the mods were all out of my pocket too. Everything else was given to me by sponsors.

That's weird then. Are you mad? Happy? Both?

Personally, I'd be grinding my teeth, and happy at the same time... Happy that my mod is getting attention, mad about not being at the very least TOLD about it.

It's a little-known clause in your hiring papers-they're allowed to use you (and in this case, they chose to extend that to works created by you) in advertising without any further compensation other than keeping your job. Circuit City pulled it on me back when they still had stores and I was repair manager. Enjoy the free publicity. Might do well for the next mod you want sponsored.

Honestly, I like TGS's bulldozer much better than that eyesore in Will's pic :P

depends on his contract.

my company says they're allowed to use my image and name in any publications or anything, but not my works

i wouldn't want to work for a company that could use my intellectual property without asking me, but at least they credited Ken.

I think it was even worse when PC Magazine published my R2-D2 without telling me. I just happened to be at the bookstore looking at magazines when I discovered it. I wouldn't have even turned to that page if it hadn't been for the thicker cardboard subscription card at that page!

It is simple, quit it with the good mods and people won't be stealing them :P

Did you get any apology or reimbursement?

No. But it makes me wonder...What haven't I discovered?

That's why any time I come across a mod I recognize I grab a pic and post " hey look what I found" in the work log. Not everybody looks at the same websites and magazines.
