Dear Modfather,

I need a good wireless keyboard & mouse that will work at ranges of 20ft. What would you suggest?

Sincerely,
Little Timmy Connors

Seriously though, anyone who knows of a good wireless set that will operate at 20ft flawlessly and won't cost me much, I would appreciate hearing about it.

I've got an older version of the MX duo. I like it.

In another post on this forum, modfather has shown his impressive abilities in rating and researching keyboards and mice.

That's why I wrote the santa letter. That and I'm weird.

Thank you for the tip.

yeah, it's cool. I honestly didn't see that it was addressed until after I had already posted. haha

It's all good because I'd have made the same recommendation d_stilgar did. Unless you have the moolah to spend in which case you might opt for the DiNovo desktop, which includes the mouse. But if you already have a high resolution mouse that's a bit of a waste, although it is one of the sleekest looking keyboards on the planet.

20ft? My logitech gets pissy at 2ft. Note: Don't buy whatever i have. I suspect it's the logitech crap edition for morons, wireless keyboard and mouse combo for those who need that extra 2ft of freedom.

Davw is your keyboard bluetooth? I heard bluetooth is supposed to work better for longer distances. I too am looking for a wireless keyboard, but I don't want one that lags. Has anyon had a problem with games and wireless keyboards?

I never had any with my DiNovo but then I didn't use it at any real distance. I imagine that 2 feet is a bit unusual, I know I got my DiNovo to at least about 8 feet away but that was the numpad portion which can act as a remote for WinMCE and that's all I ever moved any distance from the machine. But also it's bluetooth so I don't know if that would make that big of a difference. The other wireless Logitech I've used is the one stilgar recommended and again, I never went very far with it, but it worked fine and had a good feel to it. I think I still have it around here somewhere, but where the receiver is for it I haven't a clue. :)

i have a lx700 combo, and mine still kicks ass at 20 feet+.

i use my comp to as a remote for my tv too. so.. im always using my keyboard about 15 feet from my comp, with the occasional walk to the kitchen table, which is about 25 feet away. never had an issue with it not working or being pissy. nothin but praise for my setup.
