... I've just finished 9 hours worth of sanding to get my Stacker side panels paintable.

Don't ever get anodized aluminium.

so let me get this straight... you bought anodized aluminum just to sand it down for painting? doesnt that defeat the purpose?

Alluminum is light weight. I would want an alluminum case.

It's not easy to get non-anodised aluminium cases.

It helps to protect the metal.

Not quite. I bought a CM Stacker because I loved the case, yet wanted to mod it and paint it...

... it just happens to be anodized aluminum and a total mother to get paintable.

Just so you know, incase you do this again, Draino strips annodizing. Lye in general does.

buy and anodizeing kit and reanodize it in the color you want... its a hell of alot esier then painting and sanding.

are lian li cases anodized??

If they are aluminum, there is a good chance they are. Aluminum is a soft metal and annoing makes it harder and protects it.

No, I used a freakin' palm sander with 36 grit...

... 2 side panels took that freakin' long.

And drano?
