Hi everyone,

I just wanted to update you on the gallery. We have replaced the previous thumbnail wall gallery with something a little more refined. And when I say we, I mean OvRiDe. He put together a very nice system for organizing the content and now instead of the pic just leading to the finished worklog it opens a page for description of the mod with a lightbox thumbnail gallery. If you recall the plan we had ages ago to do a hall of fame, this is basically it only we decided to use it for the final mod gallery. Each mod will have a short description (or none if nothing is available), the thumbnail lightbox panel, and a link to it's finalized worklog or to the appropriate site if not on TBCS.

What does this mean to you??? Well, for one it's a great way to glance at mods you may have never known existed since they are older. And if you have a completed mod worklog that has been moved to the locked thread in the forums you have a chance to summarize it. It is going to be a very slow process for me to move each one over but I will be doing so for a long time until done and each finished worklog will eventually be there.

As the modder, you have the opportunity to write a short description of the mod/project how ever you'd like it to read (we retain the right to edit in case you write something we can't live with). Plus, you can have a link or two (limit it to two please) that we will embed there to your own websites provided they do not contain material that is against TBCS policy (see forum rules for types of content, but I think you already know what we can't live with). So if you have a finished worklog I urge you to get started with your write up. You can either edit it into the post if you made one in the works in progress section stickied at the top here (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7953) or in a thread I will open beneath it for finished project summaries. It will take some time to get everything moved over so be patient, but in the end it will be a far more elegant way to display your pride and joy.

Lastly, no sponsorship info will be added to the gallery section. So forget about banners and links, only images of YOUR MOD are going there. We have really relaxed the way we handle sponsor pimping because we know it helps some of you get the gear for your projects and we don't want to hinder that opportunity for you. But the end result of forums plastered with linkable logos has resulted in companies who are not interested in paying for ad placement because they already have it and the forums are losing their ass on server fees with no way to make it up. TBCS is not looking to get rich, but we do want to stay alive. Thanks for being a part of a great community and I will get your works featured as soon as I can.

-Jon

Looks like a great change. Should make it easier to find older mods than trying to remember the name.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDDEEEEEE!!!

That makes a HUGE change for the better!

And we don't have to dig through the "completed worklogs" section to find it!

Speaking of which, are we going to start that back up again?

Yes, I haven't been moving them around much lately because I have been wanting to change the gallery to something more functional first. It's a very time consuming process and I am doing it solo so I didn't want to do any more of them twice than I needed to.

I appreciate that, but remember it was Curtis who built it. ;)

I'm the guy getting revived by a teammate then killed instantly by his buddy on the other team in a way so fast that I cannot even quit out, simply because I interrupted their stat padding "game"
