Well, some MIGHT remember my first one, where i WAS going to mod my case, which got cut short because of gateways stupid asses....

in short, that case wouldnt work, because there wasnt enough clearance for my tubing around the PSU.

so recently, i aquired ALOT of computer junk from my bros friends step dad (big computer junk collector) and he tells me to come over and grab anything.

I go over there expecting maybe a few 16mb sticks of ram, but no, i get there and heres some of the folowing (which i took all of it of course)

4 old cases, one is lightly modded (blowhole, light mounts)
a few sticks of ram, inlucding 2 512mb sticks of mushkin (SDRAM tho)
3 Intel P3 proscessors (gonna overclock 2 of them)
an old asus AMD mobo, and a no name mobo
3 PSU's (2 300's, 1 350)
a bunch of mobo cords, a bunch of power cords
20 or 30 PCI cards (including some nice TV cards, and a 128mb ATI)
and MUCH MUCH MORE

--------back to the point-----------

one of the cases is a beautiful choice for a mod, so heres my plan -

Not sure of a color scheme yet, but im thinking Midnight blue, with maybe a white or black stripe

and a big TUX stencil on the side.

im still thinking this through a bunch....

and possibly some dual blue cathodes i have laying around from my previous canceled mod.

any ideas?

shoot me some

HERES SOME PICS OF THE CASE------------

Looks like a decent case. You will need some better cooling if you're going for a dual proc.

of course (although they are only P3's)

Im gonna pick up a few case fans, and wire in some red LED's

and i got two nice heat sinks (not nice by today standards, but by P3 standards) to slap on them.

check out my worklog for more.

My wife has that case, only problem I found with it is the power button likes to stick...

Will have to keep us updated on your work in progress. :)

one tip though, if your DUAL P3 mobo is a server board, check the following:

1) You have the VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) for the second processor
2) The motherboard supports P3 upto 1.2GHz and supports overclocking
3) Check the power connectors, most dual P3's use 24PIN power plix 6Pin Additional power.

Other than that, good luck. i want to see a thred in the workslogs with lots of pics!

I'm a little vague on what the midnight blue would look like, could you get us a pic or something? My concern is the blue cathode might look wierd (might offset the blue of the case), or it could look great who knows.

Canadian Eh?

Nice finds, the case would look sweet with oozy green paint
