Atomic Cheese [Fun Project]

Hi Guys,

how should i explain this....hm .....well we had this idea for years in our mind...but didn´t had the time to realize it. So we already organized 2 raw "chassis" for this project a long time ago...but then forget about it....

Actually we didn´t have more time atm...but we found the chassis while cleaning up the workshop....so we thougt why not build it now....

So we finally started to build a cheese PC :D

Ok not real Cheese...i think that would be a real mess...but with some deco cheese we´re trying to build an extraordinary Chassis for an Intel Atom System....

Today we made some minor progress...we prepared and painted the hdd mounting brackets which we will screw inside the cheese...beside that our preparations for the next projects are running and we also got a lot of positive feedback today....but more to this in the next days....

today we continued this build.....

we changed the hdd for an 2,5" model too save a bit of space in the inside of the cheese, because of that we made a new hdd holder and already placed it inside the cheese....

beside that we made some cheesy holes inside the mounting brackets for the bottom of the cheese so that they match the theme ....:D

today we made a bit of progress....we prepared a sheet of plexi for mounting the Mainboard on it...

today just a short update...we prepared the piece of plexi with more holes, this time for the mainboard screws....then we glued the plexipart to the bottom of the cheese ....

today we "transfered the holes from the mainboard mounting plate to the backside of the cheese and drilled them out so that the system could "breathe" and get some fresh air....the mainboard will be mounted on small risers so that there will be enough space...

today we started to build a stand where the cheese can lay on...beside that it will also be used to mount the dvd drive and the psu in it, because in that way we can save a bit of space inside the cheese....

in the last days we nearly finished the cheesestand...only some minor details like painting the backside are missing atm :D when that is done...the hardware can be moved in....

today we continued the work on the cheesestand... it´s nearly done...the cheese will be mounted with a few screws so that everything is easy to remove ...beside that we added a few plexiglas parts to the outside to catch the style from the rest of the cheese...:D

beside that we started another cheese for a small display and a PS1...the display will be used for the cheesemod on exhibitions etc...

in the last days we sanded the openings for the display and the backside....after that we prepared the backside for a small hinge so that it can be opened and closed to enter and eject ps1 games....beside that we prepared a mounting for the small display which fits inside the cheese ....

the mouse itself is nearly finished....but we had some problems with the pc mouse...first we couldnt get it in without pressing both buttons....so we had to remove the belly fur....we were very carefully so that we can place it on the downside of the mouse......beside that we attached the hinge to the backside of the second cheese and prepared the ps1 for moving in...

funny, you´re right, and the best i never thought on that until i read your post :D


today we got the adapter for the laptop hdd which we will use inside the cheese...beside that we prepared the cables with sleeving etc. so that we can connect everything as soon as the mainboard arrives....

today the mainboard for the cheese arrives....its already mounted on the downside of the cheese and i think we can finish the last details of the main cheese tomorrow....

in the last days we attached a hinge to the bottom and the top part of the cheese so that we can open it when we are on exhibitions without holding it up....
