Are there any girls who are active members of TBCS? We need more of them around here. Anyone know any PC ladies who can join?

There are a few I know on facebook and on Bit-tech. I can shoot them a PM
Lothair and Luthein are the two I know of.
I think they're both women....

They're are plenty o' woman on this forum.
They obviously just don't advertise there presence as women usually don't on the Internets.

Word of advice, TOF:
Read aloud what you're writing.
And proofread, too.

Luthien spends most of her time (well, a fair bit, anyway) with Snort, and the rest is often dominated by her mother and grandmother's help and needs.
I have noticed, on most forums, that females that reveal their genders are generally hounded, in threads and by PM, and when they're not hounded there are lots of "sandwich" and "kitchen" comments. There's still a general undercurrent of misogyny in this hobby.

it all really depends on the subject of the forum. techie type forums like this one just don't attract many women because not many women are into modding their computers. if there were a lot of em i probably wouldn't be single right now. same thing on my favorite car forum, there's more than here, but still the guy to girl ratio sucks a big fat hairy one. but then you go over to my favorite shih tzu forum and 99.9% of the members are women.

Actually I only work with one female that I know of who actually likes and knows her stuff on computers. Most of the female workers are there for a job and not the tech. I do see a lot of women, many of which are super hot and love PC's. At my work, I've only met maybe three people who claim they do some light modding, none of which were female

From a forum perspective, I couldn't really care less how many women there are on a forum. I talk to people if they are nice, kind, etc. I don't care what gender they are. If they make an interesting mod, my concern is with the mod and / or their skills, not gender. Maybe it's just me though, =).
The only thing I can think of that might change for me if there were more females, and even this is pushing on gender roles, is there might be a bit more diversity with mods. There might be more mods with a more feminine touch or design, which would be very cool.

I agreed with a few of these posts on the way down... (AmEv and Kayin come to mind), but I have to agree with Night: who cares? If the person is cool, who cares what kind of plumbing they have lol
Besides, some of us might be coming on here to get away from women lmao.
Not only that but the last time one of these threads was started, there was a whole page dedicated to debating my gender. :/
So, you guys want more girls here?
Stop it with the "make me a sammich" comments.
I don't care if it's a guy or a gal; as long as they make awesome mods, or help out around the communtiy, I don't care.

sudo "make me a sammich" !!??
just thought i'd try it that way and see if it makes a difference.
What's the password?
If the passwords match, I'll make one.
If not, "rm -r -f /*" will execute.

I'm the the majority of others on the forum when they say gender basically is irrelevant to me, when its really your work that speaks volumes about who you are and not if you have a pair of bodacious boobs behind the bandsaw.
