That's right kids, I'm gonna put my fat ass on a bike! And then ride 200km (140+ miles) in TWO DAYS.
Please have a look! Encouragement, taunting, fat jokes, and especially donations are all welcome. I promise photographic and/or video evidence if requested!!!!

Wow! I've biked 20 miles before and felt impressed with myself... I can't imagine 140 miles! It takes me about half an hour to go 5 miles, so... that's what? 16 hours? Which means I would have to bike for 8 hours each day to accomplish that goal.
I hope my math is wrong... I'm pretty sure I would die doing that. lol
And then TGS gets your soul

I used to do the great north ride every year - start to finish it's 30 miles. The thing is, the start/finish line (same place, give or take a couple hundred yards) was 12 miles from where I lived so I had to ride there and back too - 54 miles in a day isn't easy but it's definitely do-able. Course that was 20 years ago - I think I'd need some serious get back into shape time to try it now.
Best of luck and remember - it isn't 140+ miles you need to worry about, or even think about - all you need to think about is the next mile and you'll do great....

I've been watching the diet for a few weeks now, and it's getting easier. I'm hoping to start on the bike tomorrow morning; weather is getting nicer now. :)
I'm also looking at a few options for a new bike; the old downhill rig was 42lbs, and the road bikes I'm looking at now are 14-24lbs. So.. basically half the weight. :D
I know a few people who do 150km a day quite easily on roadbikes, and I'm thinking that I can get to that point by June. Not boastful, I'm just a bike nut, and the potential of this ride is pretty amazing for me. :)
I'll post pics of the bike when I pick it up, but I'm thinking either a Cannondale Quick CX 3 or Quick 4, a Kona Dew, maybe something alittle more trail oriented from Rocky Mountain Bicycles, or who knows.. maybe a straight up Trek/Cervelo road bike!
I need to raise $15k to get into a polka dot jersey, and there's only 8 of them left for the ride, so I need to get this into gear!
