Would it be possible to make a R.A.M cover with 2 40mm fan on top to cool it and air holes on the end to exhaust the air.

Passive ones:

Since all the chips are the same height, and there's nothing sticking up between them, why not make it one long heatsink?

Yeah i know you want to make one yourself so...

There are 4 screw holes around the memory sticks, this would make a perfect location to attach your contraption. You could bend some plexi to form a kind of dome over the memory. Cut some holes for fans and some for exhaust.

Should be intresting. Have fun.

I'd thought about engineering some water cooling kits for the RAM but decided against it because I don't ahve the time to screw with it...

Eeewww... that looks awful...

How about a piece of square section aluminium tube, with a fitting at each end? Stick it to the RAM with thermal glue and feed water through it.

Xoxide.com sells a unit called the Neon Crab. Has 2 40mm fans inside it, as well as 2 blue LED's, and 2 crab like eyes that change colors in a display. Clips onto the motherboard around the slots for the RAM cards.

I own a Neon Crab, and it even is variable speed with my fan controller

That watercooling kit looks pretty awesome if installed in a pair, otherwise, forget it. Asymetrical and all ugly-like. With a pair installed, it looks like something out of Batman Begins or something. Wicked

Thermaltake is coming out with a new RAM cooler. It has 2 40mm fans instead of the old one that sports 1 fan.
