My mom took me into Best Buy to look at a tablet for me.

Toshiba Thrive interested us the most, by the way.


My mom was looking at the Kindle Touch.
I turn around, accidentally bump it on the side.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Attendant sees it as an accident (which it was), says "Lemme get that."

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE- -EEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"Just a sec."
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Everyone in store is now looking at me and my mom.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Another attendant comes, tries several keys

BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP! BEE- -EEP!!

Finally, the shift manager had to come.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEE-


Beautiful silence.


Last thing we heard before we left? "Well, it seems we need to charge our keys:facepalm:

But hey, how many Best Buy employees does it take to shut off an alarm???

Similar here but with a camera. Pick it up, turn it on.... BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP.... guy looks right at me, I start looking the other way, roll my eyes and start whistling, and make a motion like I'm trying to stuff it in my pocket (this is a micro 4/3 camera). He and his boss both start laughing their butts off.

i sort of like the thrive too, at least on paper. it seems to have the most hardware features of all the tablets.
