Hey,

I found this on herbay

I think it's for a laptop, but I was wondering if it's possible to use on a case, and if so, how complicated would that be.

Thanks.

Assuming it works, it would definately be possible to use it on a PC. You would probably need to route it to the d-sub at the back, but it's definately possible.

It would be complicated, but doable. If you feel adventurous, go for it.

Is anyone capable of helping me if I decide to go ahead? Has anyone done this before?

That appears to be from a laptop. We have had this come up from time to time on the forums and the problem is.. There is no way to directly connect the panel to a video card, they just don't speak the same language. The panels use what they call an LVDS interface. There is a controller embedded in the motherboard of the laptop that handles the video card output to LVDS conversion. Actually its the same in a flat panel monitor the converter is just inside the monitor. There are some companies that make a RGB to LVDS adapters the only problem is they are expensive. More expensive the a 15" flat panel monitor. I believe they sell them at EarthLCD (http://store.earthlcd.com/). So I would have to say it is doable but not really cost effective. I wish it were because I have 3 Dell laptop LCD's sitting out in the garage that I really can't do anything with. :(
