Some of you may remember that, last year, my wife and I lost a baby when she was a little over 6 weeks pregnant. Everyone told me to keep my mouth shut until the 3 month mark had passed but I knew better and told everyone who'd listen about the pregnancy. Well we didn't quit trying and as of this morning, we have a confirmed pregnancy at the 14 week mark

First freaky pics.....

No denying that the second pic looks just like the alien out of the movie Paul heh...

According to the Midwife, we should be expecting this new addition about 2 weeks into October on the 14th....

On another note - if any of you guys have pics like these - beware - they're often printed on thermal paper and fade over time. My first son, Jack - his pics are lost forever because, even though it was locked away in a cool, dry, dark place, over the decade since the scan was printed, the paper had turned pure white so if you got 'em, copy 'em so you can keep 'em :)

Congrats! Sorry to hear about the first. I have some friends who just miscarried and it awful. I'm a pretty empathetic guy and it just killed me being with them.

I'm also surprised at how many people I know that tell everyone really soon. My wife and I barely even told family at the three month mark, but we tend to be private-ish people.

Again, congrats! It's hard to tell this early, and I'm no ultrasound tech, but it looks like you might be able to tell the gender already.

Congratulations!
And thanks for the tip about the ultrasound pics fading over time. I need to scan our pics of Asher.

My wife says "What if it's a girl? Will that make her a modette?" - I said "nah, girls can mod too!" :P

Awesome! After a couple years of us trying too, my wife is finally pregnant as well. 10 weeks. We've had the same issues in the past as well, and decided to keep the first couple months to ourselves. Due date in mid-November.

Congrats and enjoy! A new life is always exciting.

I already have two sons, and I'm kinda hoping for a third lol - I wouldn't be disappointed with a girl, I'm just being selfish.... I figure with a boy I only really have to worry about one lot of "meat and two veg" - with a girl, I have a city-full to worry about :P On top of that, I kinda sorta know what I'm doing with sons - daughters are a whole new pile of stuff to learn!!!!

First kid: No problem.
Second: You've got experience. One for you, one for the spouse.
Third: You think you have it down. It's actually going to be a nightmare.
Fourth: You think it can't get much worse. So you have them anyways.
Fifth: They're old enough to help you. Usually.....

It all depends on how far apart you have them. 5 kids under the age of 8? "Welcome to the nightmare zone AKA 5 teens".
5 0-16? You've got extra hands.

My eldest son is 15, the other one is 13 - I don't have any contact with him unfortunately, but yeah, the 15 year old is as good as gold and I have no doubt he'll be more than happy to help out wherever and whenever it's needed (as long as it isn't more than about 3 minutes at a time - his attention span sucks!!!)

Update :D

My wife had her second scan last week....

Everything that should be there, is there, and there's nothing extra that shouldn't be. Baby is a little large but within "normal" range so everything is looking good.

Oh and we asked..... It's a boy

"Owen" is the current frontrunner for a name but I'm really not sure about that - it's my wife's current favourite and I don't hate it so it may well be the name when the time comes.....

Congrats! I seem to have missed this one before, and I know I just missed it since I'm in the same boat.
