I saw this great Spice cabinet from the Atomic Age on eBay for only $30 and had to have it

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1060333.jpg

I took the drawers out, but have a way in mind to keep them

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100473.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100474.jpg

The feet are keepers too. I like the way they complete the look

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100475.jpg

I'll be using some kind of video card, but cannot exceed 9 inches or so

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100481.jpg

I used an 880GTS as an example and as you can see it's a little too long

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100479.jpg

I separated the top from the bottom

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100487.jpg

And I got this really cheap $13 case!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100488.jpg

And boy is it ugly!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100489.jpg

But I only need its rear panel and motherboard tray

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100493.jpg

I just had to trace out the back panel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100494.jpg

And then make the cut

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100495.jpg

Then I just had to rivet the panel to the frame

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100496.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100497.jpg

Time to address the cooling

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100498.jpg

I cut out two 120mm intake holes

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100515.jpg

I'll be using two 60mm rear exhaust fans as well

I picked up two 120mm and two 60mm fans

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100519.jpg

I put in the rear exhaust fans and the IO plate for my new motherboard

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100521.jpg

I got this little H61 board or socket 1155

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100522.jpg

And a dual core G620

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100523.jpg

The board will hold more, but I really need no more than 8GB

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100524.jpg

Im still using the stock fan, but I always have to apply IC Diamond first

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100525.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100537.jpg

It posts and quickly jumps into the BIOS

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100531.jpg

I added the 120mm fans and their grills. Looks good

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100538.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100539.jpg

They seem to be working fine

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100545.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100542.jpg

Next, I find a way to use the old drawers by cutting off the faces

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100547.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100548.jpg

And then riveting them together

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100549.jpg

I got the best card I could get that would still fit in the case

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100565.jpg

And this power supply. I don't exactly like it, but it works so far and has enough power to handle the system

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100566.jpg

I bought another Sandisk SSD, just like I did with my kids Purple HAF. These are super fast drives that I plan on using again and again

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1090977.jpg

Finally, it's all in and Windows is installed too

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100567.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100569.jpg

The feet are back on

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100571.jpg

Time to make the power button. I just cut a hole in a slot cover and added some quick steel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100572.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100573.jpg

These 60mm fans had to come out because they were incredibly loud!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100575.jpg

Now I need to add hinges to the door

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100579.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100580.jpg

And it's finally on!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100582.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100583.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1100585.jpg

That is it. I am done.

Nice. It's simple and quick. I need to let myself do some mods like this. I'm too much of a perfectionist. Not that it's bad. It's simple and quite good.

Was this #50?

TheGreatSatan
04-23-2012, 12:41 AM
Nope, #49.

Wasteland Ranger will be #50. I'll hopefully have it done by July. It'll be on display in my store. I'll have it next to a 27 inch LCD with New Vegas installed on it. Customers will be able to play the game with the mannequin standing right next to them

IT WILL BE EPIC!
