After reading TGS's post about his experience here and with modding made me wonder, how did you guys and gals find out about this site and when?

mine was a mere 5 years ago and i believe i was either looking for help with a virus or maybe water cooling. i really can't remember actually. this was my first forum ever and i enjoyed the experience very much! i am now a member of 5 + forums and spend the vast majority of my time on them while i use the computer.

currently it's Canadian Gun nutz looking through the for sale section and reloading. but i really want to get back into learning and teaching about water cooling. i guess my main reason for not keeping up with it, is i built the computer i set out to build and have overclocked it as best i can. so alas i am board, and drunk.

anyhow enough blabbering and more reading! post now!!!@!

I found out about the site from my husband (dating at the time). It was a couple of years ago. I'm not a member of any other forums at the moment.

Year ago.

I was at Bill Owen's forums, and there was this... Feeling about them. Can't tell if it was superiority, or that the forums were simply dying.

Found TBCS, talking about the ModWiki by others (forget who, I think Mach).
Stayed since.

I saw Paul's Doom 3 mod on hardocp or somewhere else. I registered then I think . . . but didn't really stay until a few forums dedicated to NES PC mods died. After that, this was the most welcoming place.

I was looking for ideas to mod a set of broken MP3 sunglasses into a new case. Thought a SNES or NES controller would be good. Was looking for ideas when d_stilgar's NES mod showed up in google. Followed it here, once I read through that worklog, I was interested. Saw Doom 3 and was hooked. Now you've been stuck with me ever since. That will be 5 years on May 10th. Wow where does the time go to?

I needed help with properly wiring LED lights in my case. Among several other sites, I posted on this one, and it was the only one to give me any kind of response. I checked out the site, found it pretty darned awesome, and stayed :D The sense of cimmunity here is great; even when I'm not working on a project, I still feel like I can post questions and people are genuinely interested in helping out.

Nano Lan Monster (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/tbcshof/view.php?ID=0069) got me started. Found it when just browsing around back in 2007 and decided to join up and start my own mod.

I was amazed to see what people could do so I decided to see if I could do it.

I think I came here looking for watercooling advice? Maybe? ...honestly don't remember how I found the site... Stuck around for the community though, even now that my interests have shifted elsewhere.

..on that note, re the 'other forums' question, I'm a member on:
endless-sphere.com
elmoto.net
diyelectriccar.com (not very active on this one atm)

..take a wild guess at the direction my interests have shifted. :whistler:

Wow. 7 years ago. Not calling you old or anything like that, but I'm not surprised you don't remember.

I've been here for a while, but lately I've just been lurking every now and then. I stumbled on to this forum with Google. This forum helped me put my mind in a happy place when I was out of work for an extended amount of time.

This is a really good place to visit. The folks here are friendly and helpful. I joined to give this mod (http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4142&highlight=danthegeek) rep.

I did start on a case mod of my own with an old off white case. I cut a hole in the front bezel for a 120 mm fan and put some handles on top of it. But I never finished the project. You know, I really do need to finish it up one of these days.

Found it when I got the idea of making my own case and started browsing the internet for ideas. At first I only checked the gallery but then I registered as well.
